There’s a myth about sports teams that they’re all best friends. Like some buddy movie where everyone hugs a lot and says “I love you, man” all the time.
But the best performing teams aren’t best friends. They each know their role, and trust each other to handle it.
Great teams get built by success. By getting stuff done. Not by being best friends.

Fascinating perspective! This really explains all the cringe that exists in the Corporate West. Pizza parties, wacky offsite as you say, and the rolling of the eyes whenever a "leader" tries to do something funny like wearing a silly costume on a Teams meeting.
