Best review of the US-40 I've seen particularly for pointing out it's potential flaws and at least design features it's lacking. It's a shame really as I like Kriega luggage and I have a wide selection of the US range but I have tended to migrate away from using them as end loading roll bags just aren't convenient, especially for touring. I also hate the way the bags crush down once strapped to the bike if not fully loaded. Kriega really should add a range of solid inserts for the bags to keep their shape if not fully loaded. I really wanted to add this to my collection but for practicality a top loading roll bag such as the Oxford Aqua T50 is much better and less than a third of the price currently on SBS... Excellent review.

Hi! I have a 20 and a 30 Liter pack and Im about to do my first ever motorcycle trip. I am abit worried what happens when I take a break on the ride. The bags are easy to snatch. Any idea on how to secure the bags from theft when the bike is unobserved for a short period?

Interesting question that I've not thought about before. How about using Hiplok's reusable, lockable cable ties to secure from the loops at the base of the bag to a rail on the bike whenever you stop? If you get a pair you could lock one bag to the bike and then use the other to lock the second bag to the first bag.
