Marshall Fogel is the man who owns the most desired Mickey Mantle rookie card in existence. At the time when he purchased the card, most people thought he was insane to purchase such a thing for roughly $130K. Today we know the card is priceless and fetches a conservative $40 to 50 million. Now, he admitted to Geoff that he didn't care if there were more of them out there; all he wanted was the one he purchased. The reason I remind everyone about this story is to prove a point. We are kids at heart, through and through. Marshall's story is the same story for this entrepreneur who just bought his holy grail. It's moments like this that define who we are and what makes this hobby so great. Be bold and courageous and always take calculated risks when the outcome will improve the quality of your life.

So many comments about Geoff losing some of these trades “I can’t believe he did that” blah blah. Geoff is a professional in the hobby. It’s not always about the money for Geoff, he genuinely likes to make people in the hobby happy and if that’s him losing trades to make someone’s day by getting them a card they want, he does it no questions asked.

It's a lot easier not to be overly attached to anything in the PC when you have people coming up to you with insane offers for your cards lol. If you're into cards to sell/flip/profit only, then it's a good lesson to learn, but if you're into cards for the love of it as well, then it is good to have a PC/have a few cards that you're not willing to part with for your own reasons.
@ACD1994
@ACD1994 10 ай бұрын
I mean if it's a PC item, and you don't want to sell something. No need to. There are some who are just strictly collectors, and while flippers serve their purpose I guess, not everything has to be an investment. Geoff is in that 1 to 3 percent, who can just buy pretty much any card when he wants, but most people are not in that luxury.

I thought that was a great trade for Geoff. There’s still some risk with modern and active players/cards. Vintage baseball wasn’t mass produced like today on top of no potential scandals coming out of a deceased Ruth and Mantle. And he still gets the greats of modern times in Jordan and Curry on top of cash that he could put in a high yield account to generate 5% interest in todays economy. That was a no brainer for me financially speaking

Think I’d rather have the NT curry than another gold but I’m sure your turned that 28k cash and the rest of those other cards from that deal into more money so if it makes money it makes sense! Love these trade vids!

Man I don’t think I’d be able to let go of the curry NT. Especially because you already had the chrome gold. But it was a great deal. Whew. One of those where you wish you had a Time Machine to fast forward 10 years and see how it played out.

Can you put your cards NOT PURCHASED FROM EBAY, into your eBay vault and still get $0 seller fees? Does anyone know the answer to that? I always thought it was just cards purchased on eBay, at the moment of purchase?

In regards the Jordan, it seems "pre-rookie" cards rise along with others but don't ever get the same recognition as main rookies, thinking of the Mantle Bowman as well. I say it may go up in value but don't see it being more valuable than 86 Fleer.

Keep the big trades coming! Love seeing the high rollers making moves it’s interesting to see. I think that Curry trade was a huge mistake though for sure.

Hard to see the Curry NT go, but if you profited, it’s makes sense. Congrats. Falcons looking good so far, so you may be on to something with Ridder. Question is, Would you flip Ridder while they are winning?
