Can’t even put into words how special this era of ESPN was, some of the best television ever produced

Yes it was. Sportscenter was relevant back then. You never wanted to miss it

agree'd. ESPN in 1999 vs ESPN in 2024... well they should be ashamed

I used to stay at my grandmother's in the summers, and at night I'd watch ESPN until I fell asleep sometimes. I didn't realize how good I had it at the time, but I sure do appreciate the chance to watch something like this, something I may have watched on a summer night at Granny's without a care in the world.

Fantastic upload quality! People forget this was the clarity we saw the live airings back in ‘99!

Remember when ESPN had good cold opens to SportsCenter that would actually entice the viewer to keep watching? The theme music, the video montage, the narrator, the graphics. All coming together to give the viewer a cliffhanger of what happened on the day in the world of sports. There was a serious undertone with the occasional lighthearted play on words by the narrator. It was perfect.

As an old soul person for 1999, I wish SportsCenter was like this and when ESPN used to be nostalgia.

I didn't. This is the 1:30 AM edition of SportsCenter for the date specified in the title.
