I remember Doug Flutie's first appearance in Ottawa. A storm came up, it rained so hard, you could not see across the field and the scoreboard was struck by lightning. They delayed the game at that point and cleared the stadium until the storm passed. We were absolutely soaked. Such memories. We lost the game of course.

when speaking of the Mud Bowl in the 1950 Grey Cup, one of the guys says that's what makes the CFL unique from the NFL. the 1948 NFL Championship game was played in a blizzard in Philadelphia and the 1949 NFL Championship Game was played in Los Angeles, in similar conditions to the mud bowl. there was also a Fog Bowl in the nfl in 1987 in Chicago.
@mountaindew71907 жыл бұрын
The NFL had it's own Mud Bowl. 1977 playoff game between the L.A. Rams and Minnesota Vikings in L.A.. The full game is on KZbin.
@Dr_Do-Little7 жыл бұрын
Difference is we have those pretty much every years... Well, not as much with synthetic surface anymore but still winter conditions at least a game or two. Before 1976 half the games at Montréal's old autostade were mud games! Just look at their CFL's Craziest Weather Games. And that's only a sample of Grey cup games. Remember temperatures are in celcius. so -4C is 25F and -18 is 0F... Older games (early 70's and before are in F.)

@@MrChrisdube How about the stupidity of Kyle Shanahan, the offensive coordinator? Who got greedy going for the killshot in the endzone rather than kick the FG to put the game away. Then the dude gets "rewarded" by getting the head coaching job in San Francisco for his "brilliant" play-calling and poops the bed against Kansas City.
