2019 WC was exciting because there was an even contest b/w bat ball. Teams were winning scoring 240.2023 was pretty one sided. Hardly any close finish, flat wickets, batsmen dominating. Totally agree with him. One day bilateral series give nothing to spectators or broadcasters. Take it back to 2000s when there were tri series, quadrangular series, Asia Cup every 2 years.

Speaking of ODI Cricket: It is a game where in *a single match* 50% of the result is decided on the toss, 30 % on the first innings total and sometimes , the remaining 15% on the first 15 overs of the 2nd innings. 80% of the game is over before the start of the second innings. ODI format is better than the 'HIT & GIGGLE' T20 format any day! This host is talking about ODIs being boring, i.e. the quiet overs in the middle and stuff like that. But actually here players have to strategize and play well over longer periods to win matches. Gambhir is talking about making the competition fair for the bowlers and as per this host, it would get more boring and that's a wrong mindset. She needs to understand that bowlers cannot be there just as bowling machines.. rules need to be changed to ensure there is a proper competition between bat and ball.. and that would mean better rules, fair pitches for the bowlers, a single ball for 50 overs, reverse swing etc etc.. lesser sixes, lesser fours, lesser scores are ok..that is not boring. One longer format is enough I think. So, there should be only Test cricket and T20. World Cup can be played in T20 format. WTC has given new life to Test Cricket, so I think international cricket should be only Test cricket and then franchise cricket and a World Cup once in four years. Five days, 3 sessions per day, longer spells, marathon innings. It is really a test for batters, bowlers as well as fielders. Now you have WTC where you play 6 series in two years 3 home and 3 away. So just be it no need to add T20 and One day cricket. In T20 just have leagues and have World Cup once in four years. Playing two longer formats is really hectic, hence I think one longer format and one shorter format will balance it properly.

Without ODI cricket there is no international cricket. ODI is the only format that have something for everyone be it pacers, medium pacers, spinners, power hitter, anchor role, strike rotation... and with few rule changes we can have more reverse swing as well. ODI is complete and pure cricket. T20 and high amount of T20 has killed the real cricket, that's why players ain't able to play 100-120 balls long innings. Only Odi World Cup feels like a real world cup, these T20 World Cups happening every 2 years ain't giving that world cup vibe or intensity

Because test cricket provides chance to both Batsman and Bowler. But ODI cricket has been one sided, batting dominated format. Earlier there used to be one ball rule, so bowlers used to get help and reverse swing was always there for them.. batters had to bat very very well to score, less flatter pitches.. unfortunately pitches are getting flatter, 2 new ball rule has made it even more difficult for the bowlers. ODI cricket is in danger, need to save it. ODI cricket was at its peak till 2013, after that it has become boring. Hardly any interesting match after the new rules came in.
