Whoever thought of this video. From me to you, wholeheartedly. Thank you Shinsuke SHOULD have been WWE Champion before the Rumble. (Beating Jinder at Summer Slam or Hell in a Cell). This and pulling the trigger on a Universal Champion Samoa Joe (Beating Lesnar at Great Balls of Fire or the Fatal 4 Way at Summer Slam) would lead to the Survivor Series match. Joe VS Nakamura 3 (Champion VS Champion). I'd have Joe win via submission KO but Nakamura is still strong after the loss (However this will foreshadow his turn). Styles is the one to win the Rumble which leads to an INSANE decision for him to make and would have the IWC in PURE CHOAS. This would be a PERFECT story for a face Styles. In order for him to be a champion again, he has to sacrifice a friendship and rekindle one of his biggest rivalries. Will he keep chose his TNA Rival, Universal Champion Samoa Joe. Or choose his NJPW Rival, WWE Champion Shinsuke Nakamura. After weeks of pure anticipation and unpredictability from AJ he reminds himself that HE built that era of SmackDown. He chooses Nakamura due to his strong loyalty to the blue brand. (This decision leads to the build for Roman VS Joe for the Universal Championship). Styles VS Nakamura is the same but Nakamura is champion and the final stretch is Styles countering a Kinshasa to a Calf Crusher. Nakamura still holds strong until Styles hits a Styles Clash while STILL holding Calf Crusher during and after the move. Nakamura is knocked out, losing the same way that he lost to Joe by submission. Which leads to Nakamura heel turn. With small tweeks, WWE in 2017 - 2018 could've been better than 2016 - 2017. (Which was a great year for them) However, instead it gave birth to the real name/identity of what was called at the time, the "New" Era. That real name being the Fall-Off Era...2017 - 2020...

Nakamura is basically like Dolph Ziggler for me, they both have had massive memorable moments, Nakamura winning the Royal Rumble and having a WWE Title match at WrestleMania and Ziggler cashing in MITB and winning the World Title. But after that they've both had so many start and stop pushes where they ended up losing the feud and then they're back in the midcard where they have good matches a lot and ended up winning the IC & US Titles but having very forgettable reigns with them (especially Nakamura.) So you're just left feeling like "Well he obviously isn't going to get a massive push again and become WWE/World Champion" because of how he's been booked so many times so he's been in that category of people who are just kinda there, with Nakamura it's more difficult for him to get over with the crowd when he does promos especially because English isn't his first language which is a shame but that's obviously not his fault. Hopefully they have him do more of those promo vignettes where he speaks Japanese and has subtitles and maybe just maybe he could have a manager/advocate or something aswell?

It's the same reason he has not committed to a finn balor push as well. Look at the roster now, the wave of new talent that needs legitimizing. WWE is currently investing in the next generation and needs reliable and high performing veterans to do so. Finn and Nakamura have already proved to be reliable performers who can put on great matches and elevate talent with their names alone, unfortunately they are old despite being great in ring performers still. WWE would rather use their resources to build and invest in the next generation rather than push old talent that don't have that much time left. in the future I could see Shin and Finn being rewarded with maybe a title reign, a short stint in the main event but that would be it, and the title reigns would be used to put new talent over as well. WE just have to accept that their time is gone and the past decisions of Booking to drop the Ball on those two have affected their career paths. And You might as well put AJ Styles in that category. The only "Old" guy I can see that's somehow gotten better and could legitimately have another good run at the top is Shaemus

@Clancy-exe but WWE aren't elevating new stars like that. Carmelo Hayes is still in the lower midcard and not the upper midcard/lower main event. Wrestlers like Ivar, Bronson Reed, and Karrion Kross who they constantly tease on pushing heavily need to be pushed fully and have more wins than they do losses or no contest. That's why it's hard for me to invest in them because even though I think they are interesting characters, they aren't believable main eventers. Doesn't matter how many times Bronson Reed puts someone on the shelf if they come back and beat him.

@@RomaroBrandon Bronson Reed is set to be in WarGames vs Roman Reigns and the OG Bloodline if that isn't elevating someone to the main event idk what else is. His fued with Seth isn't over, and he doesn't need even need to win to be legitimized, the mere fact that he pushed seth to the absolute limit and still got up and wanted more is building him up. and For Melo, it's his first year in the main roster nobody is expecting him to be a main eventer, Breakker is still in the midcard, so is Lyra and the likes. Karrion is being set for a feud with the Wyatts. You just have to be patient it's pretty obvious that by now people should've seen the differences between H's and Vince's booking. H takes his time, often some of his long term bookings work and others don't. A perfect Example is Jey Uso, in 2021-22 if someone told you he was gonna be a top guy in WWE getting the loudest reactions and being a top merch seller nobody would believe you, but it took damn near 3 years to get him to the main event, even despite the major PLE losses he had

Bronson Reed being on the main event of WarGames doesn't matter if OG Bloodline wins because that's 2 back to back PLE loses with the second in the main event of a Big 5. He's elevated but not as a main eventer. After this feud with Seth Rollins he'll most likely be back in the midcard. As far as Karrion Kross do you really think he's going to win that feud? And in the slight chance that he does Wyatt Family 6 would lose their momentum and it's way too early for that.

Carmelo Hayes was not taking the title off LA Knight who had just recently won it at Summerslam and was much deserving of a good title run. The differences between Breakker and Melo are all circumstances of booking plans. Drew has also lost alot of PLE matches this year back to back, by your logic is he no longer a main eventer because he lost PLE matches? Certainly not.

Shinskai nakamura came up to the main roster and went into wm with a lot of momentum. They killed it by having him lose to aj styles. Shinskai should have beat aj, after there 5 star match, they hug it out until AJ turns on him. They feud thru 2 more matchs where they were won by Shinskai. Perhaps it was his lack of English, perhaps, but they could have given him a mouthpiece. I would have given him a mouthpiece that was good on the mic and can hype everyone up. I believe that Shin should’ve won a WWE championship at some point in his career. In my opinion, it’s a business move in WWE I don’t understand how IYO Sky became a WWE Women’s Champion & not Shin as WWE Champion. I get frustrated that they kept pushing away Nakamura from the WWE title more than IYO. Especially Nakamura is one of the most well known wrestlers in the world & people forget his history.
