The takeaways from these two games in Toronto: Brad Marchand: 5 points Desert punk: 1 goal post The boos at the end of the second period were music to my ears. While Marchand continues making a bid for the Conn Smythe trophy, it looks like the Leafs' best players have imploded as a unit. This game has to feel like the bottom for the Leafs and their fans. Game 5 is scheduled for next Tuesday, April 30th. No surprise there at all, for the simple reason any game the Leafs play in the month of May is an achievement.

The Leafs are done because their coach won't demand his team to fix their lack of defence. They bunch up, all going for the puck in one spot and get in each other's way, while the opposing team remains spread out so they can pass it to each other, and not collide with each other. Leafs simply don’t have the players that know how to win. They brought in a team captain who never figured it out. They rushed the process rather than letting this team grow under the leadership of Matthews and the core group. Brad was really given a dumpster fire with no money to make necessary moves and the President is too stubborn to allow the necessary roster pieces go to bring in the roster they can. Frankly next year will be a wash as well as Matthews salary will once again eat up too much

Tavares is the heart of the team best 2 way player on the team. Those 3 salaries could get 6 good get players and a goalie.
