They give you a game misconduct if you fight while another fight is ongoing, which is why you don't see line brawls or goalie fights anymore. Fairly common for rookies, especially out of Juniors. They get used to just being bigger being enough. Strategy and toughness matter more. That's why watching smaller guys like Tie Domi and Nic Deslauriers hold their own and win against bigger guys like Rempe is kind of an underrated part of watching hockey.

Two things: For one, brawling in today’s NHL can be kinda entertaining, but with every player now wearing helmets and visors, does anyone really think any real damage is being done, other than knuckles making hard contact with very hard plastic? It’s really hard to actually punch someone in the face now. And you don’t target Rempe…he plays 5-6 minutes per game in a pure goon role. Does he target opposing goons? No, he tries to lay out useful opponents, and if he starts doing that in any given game, you have your goon do the same to his teammates. Rempe’s not going to stop if he’s the one targeted; he knows this is what got him into the NHL and he’s big enough and wearing enough equipment that he’ll happily engage in some fights. But go after some of the Rangers’ stars, and maybe he thinks twice about who he drills.

That secondary fight ejection rule should be at the referee’s discretion. That fight was more of a boys will be boys kinda thing. If it were to happen again in the same game, yeah, start tossing them out but that rule looks a little heavy handed at the start of the game.
