In playoff hockey, a team will only go as far as its goaltender will take them. The team who has the goalie with the hot hand is usually the team to beat. The Igor we expected to see in net was exactly what we got in this series. I don't think I have seen him as relaxed in any game as he was in game 7 tonight. Calm, cool and collected. Never got rattled. I like our chances against Tampa. LGR!!!

I said before game started Canes continue taking STUPID penalties would be their downfall and it was. They just were a team that did/could not learn. I see them not getting past 2nd round for the continuing future. They just don't have it in them. Maybe next year Rod will sit the players on the bench for most of the game if they take stupid penalties. Maybe then they will get the message. Tampa will probably lose 1st game because they will be rusty.

Trouba's hit on Jarvis knocking him out the game was the play of the game. There must have been 12 people on the Carolina bench that were focused on Jarvis after he finally crawled his way back to the bench and collapsed on the floor. The concern that play and its aftermath sent throughout the Carolina lineup was impactful.

Carolina didnt play super inspired hockey. their special teams looked flat, and they couldn't get flow in the offensive zone when needed. Sure, they out shot the rangers, but the Rangers scoring opportunities in this and other games were superior imo. Still a young team so plenty of time to build off this season and improve.

People forget the rangers were basically a .500 team the past 5-6 years. If you told me before the start of the season that the rangers would be in a position to win the metro or make the cup, I would’ve bet a lot of money against you lol Being one of the youngest teams in the league (I think we avg being 26-27 years old), we exceeded all expectations. Gallant and Drury deserve a lot of credit for what they’ve done with the coaching, development and off-season/deadline moves. The vatrano and Copp deals look to be the smartest of the deadline and who the hell would’ve thought that lol the team will need to tighten up against Tampa. Our game plan relies so much on Shesty, I’m praying our defense can make it easier for him but we HAVE to win face offs. We are one of the worst in the league lol the difference maker this upcoming series will 100% be special teams. PP needs to stay hot and our key PK guys need to stay healthy. Best of luck to the remaining teams but with that being said, Let’s Go Rangers!

I had forgotten how much the Rangers outplayed Carolina. Staal absolutely shut down the Panarin line but there was just too much firepower. This year the Rangers are better but Carolina got Guentzel, a Ranger killer. He was a thorn in our side in the previous series. This year though we got the best version of Trochek so we'll see. Either way Florida is loving it. One of the two teams they'll face for the chance at a SC are going to wear themselves out.

Thanks to the Rangers for disposing off the Candy Canes.. if they had some how survived this game they would have been the first team to host the Eastern conference finals after losing all 6 previous road games.. what kind of an ugly record is that ? Has the Eastern conference host ever had such a record on the road ? The Bolts are still favored but at least the Rangers will give them a serious fight. Hoping that the Bolts are challenged in every shift

just 8 wins away from a cup. not that any of those 8 will be easy. tampa is red hot right now (although hopefully theyve cooled off a bit in the week that theyve been watching), colorado is formidable (although im still not entirely sold on them performing up to expectations in the playoffs), and the oilers pairing of mcdavid and draisaitl have seemingly been able to score at will (the only issue there might be the potential inconsistency of mike smith). the rangers have their work cut out for them, but hey, we've come this far. as long as igor continues his great play, and we get consistent contribution from our top 2 lines, we should be golden. As for canes fans, there should be nothing to be ashamed about. you had a phenomenal year, and won the metro division for a reason. LGR!!!

Historically, teams that sweep their series and then face a team that went to 7 games lose more often than they win. Aka, NYR has history on their side. In the series against Toronto Tampa showed the ability to play some actually awful hockey, and also properly excellent hockey. Honestly, I think NYR takes game one as Tampa gets back into game shape, and after that it's a showdown between Vasi and Igor.

@@reaganharder1480 I think ultimately that's the only advantage Rangers have going into the conference finals they've had a tough road to get here they were 3-1 down against the Pens years past would have said seasons over but instead they rallied winning 3 consecutive games including an OT in game 7 then in the Canes game started 2-0 down came back winning 2 straight games and after being 3-2 down they won another 2 consecutive games to send us to the Conference finals

@@user-kr7fu9by1v соглашусь, но опять же, вратарь тоже не последний хрен в команде, вспомним игру Тампы с Котами, когда Вася был как стена, и у Шестеркина были подобные матчи. Полицаи показывают рвение к кубку, в последний момент переворачивая игру в свою сторону, а у Тампы есть намерение 3й раз чашку забрать, но опять же, это не короткий сезон (как предыдущие два) именно поэтому игра будет очень интересной, волнительной, напряжённой и не простой :) как мне кажется

How do you sort out their number 1 goalie from an injury? Raanta did a stand-up job. He's always been a premiere back-up. He was awesome when he was with our Rangers. No team can can have two world-class goalies. The moment the number two guy rises he's gone the next year as he becomes unaffordable.
