Sportster Street Tracker build

This is a 1979 Sportster XLS that I turned into a flat track tribute bike . Lots of hand made parts over the last three months . It had a kickstart on it now , this is the last full year that it was possible to have a kickstart on a Sportster.

Good news .... Harley Davidson still has the right side fork leg available , I ordered one , received it and the dual disc conversion is going to happen .

Hallo, sehr schön und gut gemacht. Was ich aber immer nicht verstehe: warum den Auspuffkrümmer rund um die Motordeckel- Insel ? Das erzeugt noch mehr Motor-Hitze. Grüße aus Deutschland.

What brake caliper is that on the back? I'm assuming it's the original disc (looks like mine) and I've replaced all the back brake components except for the caliper body itself, brake still rubbish, beginning to think the original caliper may not be too hot. I have GS1000 air forks up front and a twin piston CP2195, so no complaints at that end.

@@ImminghamIronhead it’s from a 2016 Sportster , a two piston , I had to do some machining to make the mounting bracket fit a 1979 swingarm . The rotor is a 10” , at some point , I’m not sure when , HD switched to a 10” from the 11.5” rotor that had been in use for many years . The 79 came with an 11.5” rear brake rotor . I also went to a 5/8” bore master cylinder …. Stock it was 3/4”

@@TheOriginalHoser It looks way neater than the stock brake too, which as you know has one piston, which is not enough pistons to make a difference 🙂
