You are absolutely killing it my friend! Hey, it doesn’t matter if I like it or not... I will definitely be adding it to my website and presentation as a service that I offer, and let the client decide on whether or not they would like to use it or not. But personally, yes, I find it to be a lot more appealing and professional than a circle or an arrow. Thanks Mike! -Britt

Thank you Mike for another interesting video to help us become better real estate photographers!! I really appreciate your knowledge and hard work in making these tutorial videos!!

I've never thought about this. I always just add the arrow. I prefer the first look to the second as well. The second seems a bit harsh, but the first harmonizes well with the rest of the image.

Awesome! Very nice! I do like both ways but the first is my favorite. Thanks for the refresher. It's been a little while since I messed with Photoshop. I did want to mention though that property lines don't go to the edge of the rd. They are at the back of walk so that would take care of the telephone pole issue. That stuff would be in the right-of-way. Hope that helps.

Well I think it's cool and clever. I think it looks professional. To have a pic or 2 like this to show the plot could work for the good or the bad. I suppose it depends on the property. This once works for sure. Thanks for all the videos. I always watch them and learn.

If your looking for Video ideas, I’m still trying to work out a workflow for my real estate photography while only depending on an iPad Pro 2020. So just figured out the merging issue with iPads but still not decided on which apps are worth the monthly fee.
@InsideRealEstatePhotography3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the idea! I don’t own an iPad Pro unfortunately. If I ever do get one that could definitely be something worth considering for sure!

Sweet! Very similar workflow to video, with tracking a mask in After Effects.

@@InsideRealEstatePhotography Reallly? How keen are you in doing a tutorial on how to do this in after effects with a moving drone shot? While the drone pans left to right, it outlines the property and has the same effect as this tutorial in terms of the subject spotlighted and the other parts of the image/video "dull"
@InsideRealEstatePhotography3 жыл бұрын
@@fathamog yeah, that could be something cool to try out! My only issue is most real estate agents won’t pay for something like that because I’d have to charge a decent amount for it.

Is there a way to get a similar effect on videos?
@ww_meysa_be-sammeylaerts66332 жыл бұрын
Quick question. I have been using this for a while now. A clients wants me to just blur it now but i cant seem to find out how. Got any tips?
@InsideRealEstatePhotography2 жыл бұрын
Blur everything else around the property? Sure, just duplicate the layer, blur the duplicated layer and then just take the lasso too and select out the property line and cut it out and then the non-blurred layer underneath with show through.

I liked the video and the workflow but I think sometimes creatives forget about the market who aren't creatives and probably wouldn't appreciate the artistic value of this effect. I know a line and arrow effect seems childlike in the art value, but changing the surrounding area so much might detract from highlighting the location value like a seaside or rural area which also helps sell the property. I do agree with another comment on here of showcasing this as an alternative highlight method, but would a real estate agent appreciate detracting the location aspect?
@InsideRealEstatePhotography3 жыл бұрын
All very good points and I should have mentioned in the video that I would always deliver the photo both with and without the effect so both could be used in the listing if the agent chooses to do so.
@tonynicolaci32443 жыл бұрын
@@InsideRealEstatePhotography perhaps the opposite effect of slightly overexposed glowing effect of property again without detracting from property
@AliShariaty3 жыл бұрын
I have mixed feelings about this effect. The beautiful surroundings of these listings are definitely a selling point and you are taking that away from the photo (or bring it down) to spot light the property only. I mean when I see the first photo I see an underexposed overall image. And the second photo is a gray scale image at first sight. No doubt they look better than a simple red arrow but again I love and hate them at the same time if that makes sense.
@InsideRealEstatePhotography3 жыл бұрын
Yeah good points. I would deliver the photo with the effect and without so both could be included in the listing so you can get best of both worlds.
@GaryBrandel3 жыл бұрын
@@InsideRealEstatePhotography would a short clip or gif where you transition from non-spotlight edit to the spotlighted one be something agents could use? Not sure if it's even an option the agent could use in a listing so I thought I'd ask
@InsideRealEstatePhotography3 жыл бұрын
@@GaryBrandel I don’t believe that’s possible but definitely an interesting idea!

I'm new to the game, but I feel this could put the photographer liable of knowing the actual property line. I can see a lawsuit happening if the highlight isn't accurately depicting the specific property for sale. Is this a genuine concern?
@InsideRealEstatePhotography3 жыл бұрын
I’ve never experienced an issue and I think it’s implied that it’s approximate. If you are concerned about it then I would suggest drafting an agreement that an agent signs that you accept no responsibility for it.
@mrdrone9463 жыл бұрын
Good point, I would put a small disclaimer in the lower third touching on that of some sort...
