Love this little kit. One of the best purchases for a tank.

Is the float valve what turns it off or is that just a backup sensor to the optical sensor?

Nice job Randy! Gotta admit I love my Tunze Osmolator auto top off, wouldn't trade it for any other ATO!

10 minutes is an insane amount of time to keep the pump running by default in the (admittedly rare) event both sensors fail. Surely if Tunze can include an option to regulate the flow rate they could have included an option to drastically decrease that time.

If the return pump turn off for maintenance, feeding or whatever, the water in the sump return chamber will go up for certain level. If so, will there be alarm because of the secondary float switch? Thanks.
@BRStv3 жыл бұрын
If you keep the float on the same magnet as the optical eye, then the alarm will likely go off when you turn off your return pump. For that reason, I would turn off the ATO whenever you turn off the return pump. Alternatively, you could consider putting the backup float on the secondary magnet and raise it up if you find that necessary. Just keep in mind that doing so will let the ATO pump run longer if something were to happen with the primary optical eye.

Ordering one of these for my 65 gallon aquarium I'm planning to get the trigger system Emerald Reservoir because I have the trigger system Emerald sump and I just have enough room for it left in my stand but would it be okay to mount the tube into the reactor holes that are in the turn section of it?
@CreepyMonkeyHeadGame7 жыл бұрын
BulkReefSupplyCom the trigger system are acrylic Wright because if they are I could drill the hole out for that tube second how loud is the pump on that auto top off because the tank is right beside my bed

What is that solenoid made out of? It looks like brass, and I thought running ultra-purified RO/DI water over those materials is strictly a no-no.
@ManiacalMangoes2 жыл бұрын
I’ve been seeing some reviews saying the pump is super loud. Has that been your experience? I also heard they’re updating the design, is that coming true?
@ManiacalMangoes2 жыл бұрын
Soon*?
@BRStv2 жыл бұрын
The pump on the osmolator isn't silent, but the good news is that it only needs to run a few times per day to keep the tank topped off. Tunze did release some info about the next gen osmolator last year, but no info has been given about release date.

Thanks for the reply. My only hesitation is that it’s in my bedroom and I’m a light sleeper so waking up to that multiple times a night might drive me crazy lol

@BRStv5 жыл бұрын
If all 4 lights flashing with a single beep, power overload conditioned caused by a wrong power supply or faulty pump. If this is not the case I would contact Tunze for assistance on this. They have great customer support.

Mine is stock on the ON POSITION. The optical eye and the float switch are clean. The pump stays on until the water is all the way to the float switch and it triggers the alarm. Any ideas?

This thing is a piece of crap. You clean it and it works for a month. Then the on sensor stops working and your sump runs dry.
