Spots are everywhere!

Parkour spots are everywhere. In any country, in any city, on any street.
You can use anything to train; you don't need to wait for the things other people validate as "training objects".

So many tracers go every single time to the same places where everybody goes, in order to do there what everybody does and did before them. They go to Lisses, to do the jumps David Belle did; Paris 13 to do the "Foucan armjump" (as they call it). It's like they can't find anything themselves, and have to go where the others went before to imitate them.
I've always liked working on imagination and creativity, go to some unknown place, alone, and look at things with this eye that tries to see what doesn't show itself spontaneously.
We have so many things to train everywhere! I like to use anything I find, and not to look for the "perfect place" with this and that. I think the way you look at things says a lot on who you are, as a traceur, and as a person too.
These bits of my trainings have been all recorded this winter, between the 1st of January 2012 and the 19 March 2012, respecting some strict rules I chose to impose to myself during all my winter trainings:
1-Train on my own the whole winter.
2-Train in and only in my neighbourhood (Paris 14th district).
3-Never go on the socalled "spots" where everybody goes, and rather than that discover places and things that are new to me.
4-Try anything I would see on my way, and in case I don't have the time, write it on a notebook, and come back later to try it. That means I wasn't actually looking for new parkour training things to do as an activity, but was walking through the streets of my neighbourhood, going from a place to another to do my everyday life things, while looking around me, and thinking every time I saw something: "I should come back here and try that!".
5-Repeat any of the things I was training until I feel I can't do it any faster or with any more control.
6-Film it then.
"Spots are everywhere!"

This is a beautiful video. No showing off, no acting, no XTREME!!! bullcrap, just clean and efficient movement, venturing paths not visible to others and using the whole body, as well as being a bit playful. I would love to learn Parkour just for that flow, maybe I'll try it, seeing how I love movement anyway.

Beautiful. This is the best parkour video I've seen in a LONG time. No free running, nothing fancy, no camera tricks to make a move seem more amazing than it is, just pure unadulterated movement through one's environment.

Again I really liked your playing with all the objects surrounding you. Every movement was fluent and precise but not limited on certain techniques. Training in such a manner really supports creativity and flexibility. The small details in this video are again very nice to look at. For example scooter sound which sort of interrupted the music or the l'consolable writing on the rail

Yeah! Great stuff Naïm. Good to see you move with your wrist like this. I remember you took a long break because of it, but you found a way and are getting faster again with it. The video shows how I love to train, anywhere! I love to just go to places and move around without going to 'the spots'. Doing that really makes you more creative from day to day. Opportunities are everywhere and mostly in non-standard movement (which is more fun anyway!) Bon courage from The Netherlands

I love the way you speak with both movement and words. You explain how people try to look for "The Spot" and take ideas already done by other people and so there is nothing new. I use to do that same exact thing, until I started to train more and more by myself and began to look at EVERYTHING in a very different way. I would see certain spots and I would go over and look all around and then begin to train all around that spot. I'm getting a camera soon and I will begin making my own videos of P

I love watching this guy so much. You attitude about training and the community is a wake up call. I get so tired of going to the same place to train with the same groups. It becomes a social thing that usually feels sour. Any who, Maybe I digress. Big jumps and bug spots are DEFINITELY overrated. Train safe brother

I agree that Free Runners/Traceurs have lost creativity and only go to designated spots but on the other hand there would be no sense of community or shared experiences if everyone just ran through the city like this. However, I think there is a way in which both goals could be achieved so nice video x
