Partial Transcript
-----------------------------
After exploring how to prep and keep our stability during the spins in first 2 episodes, - it is time to learn how to LEAD the spins -
we will do that in the 3rd and last episode of the
3 fundamentals of spins- The Head Snap
I have been practicing spins for several years and still am, and want to invite you to explore the third fundamental of spins- The Head Snap.
▸So let's examine some of the best spinners in the world :
from a Classic background, Salsa, Freestyle, with and without a partner.
(-----------------------------------)
▸ Important Clarification:
Some of you may think that The Head Snap - is what many dancers call SPOTTING - well you are right - however:
the term SPOTTING might be quite confusing because it's not about the eyes-
▸ For the simple reason that you could do these exercises with your eyes closed...
Also, the confusion might make you think that you need to train your eyes - while actually, you need to train the muscles in your neck... like we did in the video.
so let's do a quick recap on the 3rd fundamental the head snap
first, it is all about the head movement we practiced which gives us:
• direction and lead for the spins.
• helps us with our spacial awareness, which is being aware of where we are in space - during the spins...
• and gives us also power for the spins, mostly for more than one spin - and will be discussed in other videos.
and in a nutshell, the head snap gives us control and power in our spins.
And now, after understanding all 3 fundamental this is time for you to put them all together in a full practice!

Thank you for this video. I've seen the related videos a while ago. You really teach in those videos, thumbs up. I figured out that the most common error on my spins are existing to not straight hips and shoulders. I try to press my shoulders down straight to the floor and also try to keep my hip straight to the floor. I realy have to train my spotting because I'm not that flexible with my head to keep my shoulder posture straight on spinning. I would recommend everyone to record themself to watch the potential error. It's best to watch on slow motion and remember every new time the proper mistakes to get a better version of the work you're investing. I think the mirror is lying and I don't know why the most experts are not recommending to start recording with a camera. Nowadays when I watch those spinning videos, I watch out for straight alignment to the ground. And when someone advanced spins and fall out of balance, the most I see is not proper alignment of shoulders and or hip. Don't get me wrong you did a great job with much love for details and maybe you've mention it already ;)

How many hours or minutes I should practice the fundamentals per day in order to feel the improvement in my spins ?
@MarcusBodyCoding
@MarcusBodyCoding 5 жыл бұрын
Hey Mostafa! thanks for the great question! I still practice the basics by the way... and I do it for few mins every day - between 3 min to 10 min. one of the best ways to practice - is to do few mins in the morning and few mins in the evening * an hour practicing spins - in my opinion would not be so much effective (unless it is spread throughout the day) some things you need to do everyday (or in small time cycles) "Eating seven apples on Saturday night instead of one a day just isn't going to get the job done."
