Awesome start to my Sunday morning! We have a lot of the same marine wildlife here on the other side of the Atlantic. Harbour porpoises, minke whales, humpback whales, fin whales, killer whales. The orcas are the only ones that scare me. The fin whale we saw this past summer was the fastest whale I've ever seen. Our minkes stay year round, but the others are usually here just during the summer. My wife has paddle boarded with the porpoises swimming around her. Hope to see the Blue Spur in person some day. Thanks for sharing the adventure.

The stripey sail is a mizzen staysail which is hoisted to the head of the mizzen mast and tacked down towards the foot of the main mast. The sheets will come down to blocks on the deck near the foot of the mizzen.
