My reverse got progressively worse over a 4week period. Finally reverse was gone. Shops quoted $1500- $4500.I used crude measuring method . After having a shop weld 1/4 inch to filed it down . End results I added a total of 3/16 inch. Works great no slipping, no hesitation into reverse . Great video. Thank you!

The tip at 5:00 on measurement was worth the price of admission. Much easier than fabbing up a dial caliper mount / purpose made tools.

FYI: If you're just repairing the reverse servo pin you do not need to remove valve body. All you need to do to access the last bolt is to remove the solenoid blocking access to that bolt. Much easier than removing valve body. However good advise on welding the pin. About an 1/8 of a inch is usually good.
@forevertools679 ай бұрын
Yes, you don't need to remove or even loosen the valve body. Remove the solenoid to access the bolt. I would add, that to then remove the servo, use your fingers to pull the piston into the cover, to allow you to slide it all out from under the corner of the valve body.
@AbsolutelyNot123453 жыл бұрын
If you file just a tiny bit of valve body and the accumulator cover it will slide in and out as long as you remove & install piston with the cover together.

I put a new band in mine and it seems like the pin I have is too long... I haven't measured it quite yet but when I tighten the cover down the output shaft doesn't really turn anymore. Thanks for the vid, this helped me in 2024

Good info I am about to do the same thing. I have a 5.3 with a lifter tick and tried the marvel and flushes and it always came back. I switched to 0w30 and the lifter tick is gone and it hasn't come back for a few weeks. Wish me luck on the 4l80 reverse

Now I am going to have to do some digging. I do not have any of the accumulators in my 2006 4l80e. Mine has the jakes delete, so I am guessing, it was the valve body. At least it's fixed! I've used Marvel in the past, lately, I've use Z-max.

Hi there. I haven’t watched all your videos but did you check the base circle of your cam? If you used the sloppy stage 2 aka Elgin 1840p then it’s like 3mm smaller base circle
