@@chillfrosted2670 I feel like Lapras is worse in a vacuum, but given that Misty and Manaphy are in the game, its boosted a fair bit. Although Gardevoir is also a thing so who knows. Machamp is also pretty mid.

This has long been an established pillar of card games. Gaining life, or healing in this case, is substantially less impactful than actually trying to win the game. I think the more interesting observation is that Darkrai would be an awful card without its ability.

Especially with healing as minisule as 20 when a lot of what you would go up against would brush that off like it's nothing. The only time I've seen healing be worthwhile is with grass decks and Erika, which even then at best would let your Pokemon survive one extra turn.

No, this deck just blows. There are already very powerful decks with Cresselia Ex, Dusclops and Mismagius Ex.

One thing you need to keep in mind is that promo cards like on the real pokemon TCG can never be too good, cuz people can't get theses cards after some time, so don't have high hopes for these promo cards

Nah I think laprass ex is worse in my opinion. My reasoning is cresselia can at least heal actively per energy early game. Laprass on the other hand you need 3 energy in order to get to your healing and by the time you get energy up unless you have misty lucky head flip it’s wraps at that point.

Cresselia sometimes heals 20 damage for the cost of one energy. Darkrai gives guaranteed wins for the cost of one energy. Also, darkrais ability activates every time whereas cresselia barely gets utility from their ability.

Most energy your putting on your cresselia will be before you send it out because with decks with a high energy requirement (like cresselias 3) to get going you want to have something tank hits or give early damage.

Ive been thinking about a Cresselia EX deck, using Dusknoir, Hypno, and Cresselia. The goal would be using Hypno to stall out turns, and Dusknoir on bench potentially become a full heal.

Cresselia being a perfect inverse to Darkrai is dangerous from a game design standpoint. There's a reason that burn effects in other card games are always more efficient than life gain.

Darkrai's main advantage is powering up on the bench can still apply pressure with the ability. Cresselia powering up doesn't do shit unless it was healing active of say a Druddigon or something with Rocky Helm. Then it would be worthwhile. As of right now self healing only just sucks.

No, Lapras is still worse considering it has a 3 retreat cost while Cresselia has 2. Plus, Cresselia has more synergy with certain cards than Lapras does.

Not Cresselia related, but psychic in general is in such an unfortunate spot. I tried tk build either Zam and Gengar ex behind a Giratina wall and a Mew (wall/late game). It actually flows surprisingly well, buuut running into dark more often than not makes it so much harder than it should be

This is one of the many cases where I find it weird that the devs haven't made full use of the digital space this game takes place in. I get that it mimics the real world card game, to an extent, but they really can just release a patch that changes some card effects. Not that I want the game to be over reliant on those types of changes, but I think it would make balancing a lot smoother.

Card will fall out of rotation over time, that why they dont do it. Not even hearthstone does stuff like that. And thats a pure online tcg. Simply because there is a rotation.

@@XxXAirsoftboyXxX I don't know much about the mechanics of Hearthstone, and maybe you have a point, but that doesn't change the fact that Lapras EX fell off basically within a week of its event, or that Mythical Island Golem is far superior over its Genetic Apex version. The same thing is going to happen to Cresselia EX. I'm not saying a balance update every week, but simply for the devs to be like: "Hey, we realized Genetic Apex Golem is atrocious, so we reduced its recoil to 30." I also don't think hearthstone's rotation is a valid example, as TCG Pocket is too new to implement a rotation system, and has plenty of time to decide not to do it.

Couldn't you use Cresselia as an early tank? If you get it early, you could put it out front to block, move it back with a Leaf, and heal it up with a couple of energies.

Cresselia is an interesting wall in the game. Heals 40 on energy attachments so it lives longer til you need to retreat it, can heal damage off over time while powering a decent attack up. Can come back in, deal 80 , retreat next turn to sleep off damage again. Repeat The issue is you can only pair it with energy self supplying Pokémon (like the magnet line) to really use its benefits …….and Darkrai is just better I pin utilising those at the moment.

I don’t think darkrai/magnezone is all that good. I’m still running gyarados/greninja I just replaced one of my leafs with a Cyrus so once I get greninja and gyarados online I can chip someone down and force swap them in with Cyrus

I made a pretty decent Cress deck with 2 Florges lines, 2 butterfree lines and shaymin, 2 potions and 2 capes leaf and erika too and its great when it works and it's set up perfectly everyone can heal alot in one turn if done right, do damage and quickly switch out heal do damage switch rinse and repeat . I call it Crescent 🌙 Islet

Especially in the DLC that added cape, 80 is a 3HKO on most meaningful targets and almost all of them with a single potion. If it were 100 damage and healed 30 or healed the team to motivate putting energy on it on the bench, it would be more useful. Esp with Darkrai/weavile on top of existing dark support, it was always gonna be rough for a defensive psychic. If their concern was overturning, I don't see why

Healing powers are pretty weak since most of the time you’re gonna get KO’ed in two turns either way. Venusaur might be the exception, with the help of Erika, but then he’s a stage 3
