"Whatever you do, it's your challenge and good luck" I really appreciate this message and and thanks for bringing some perspective on spray lubing vs. desoldering. Personally, I'd rather have a go at spray lubing and only desolder if required (haven't had to yet), but thats just me. Ultimately what we do is to our own keyboards so who's to judge.

Wow, I can't believe how different the sound is between using lubed switches without your desk mat compared to using them with your desk mat. They both sound really good to me as it is a personal preference but if you want a more quiet bubble wrap popping sound which is how I would describe it and is the sound that I love in a keyboard, then I do think using a desk mat will give you a more quiet sounding KB using Cat's (:3ildcat) configuration in this video while still being very pleasing to the ears. The most inexpensive mod to slightly change the sound of your keyboard, a desk mat. Who knew, lol? Also it takes no time to switch between using one and not using one. As far as the spray lube goes, I am impressed and as I have no experience with it but heard you should not use it, I probably would never use it unless I watched this video. So thanks again for the info Cat and for another great sound test. Sounds like you fixed it.🤜💥🤛

Even after all this controversy, I think spray lubing is still a great mod to do. Of course there are risks, but if you have a soldered board and you can't desolder it's definitely a valid option. If your board is hot swap though, there is almost no reason to spray lube.
@3ildcat3 жыл бұрын
