Yeah, when you're just starting it can seem like it will be a bit monotonous but you just give yourself some time and it can be like clipping your bonsai tree type zen. I still opt for hotswap PCB's but even if you put the bare minimum effort into a custom kit eg. no lubing, work on stabs, extra padding, etc... you can still come up with a nice board that will be more accustom to your taste. These fancy group buy keyboards are another level but you can start with a tofu or the GMMK pro is actually really great for the price.
