Think of that as more of a powder brazing torch. The process uses brazing temperatures and has to fuse the powder to the part. Search for information on the Eutectic Eutalloy process. The process with the bigger Eutectic torches are what they refer to as cold spray. Look up the Castodyn systems and Proxon powders as well as others.

I imagine Eutectic would tell you if their powders could be used in other manufacturers spray rigs. I mean, they want to sell product so I bet it would work in your rig.

Hi Adam . That torch uses a different process and powders than the Roto tech ones that you see spray welding shafts . They are more of a brazing process with powder instead of filler rod . And they work well . Puddle torch is another name for them . There are other brands of powders , i use MSSA . Below is a link to an early video when i had my one last fired up . It had a problem with the powder valve , but i have the parts to repair it now . I will be using it soon to repair some gear teeth . The rubber band or O ring on the handle is to keep the lever open so it does not damage the rubber valve inside when not in use . kzbin.info/www/bejne/bKKueH-OZtqnopI

that rig looks a setup for hard facing not turning but see if you can get the data from the eutectic you may be able to turn small diameter shafts it will depend on the orifice size and flow rates

Only seen hard face applied for abrasive material pump. It looks like a toy honestly

@@Clarkson350 I’m sure it’s a light duty setup, all the hard facing work I do is with stick welding on digging buckets
