Adam, make some CBCad patterns.Cardboard Cad as we call them.ceral boxes or 12 cartons are good sources for pattern stock. Cut and trim to fit then layout on your sheetmetal. Look for 18 or 16 gauge material. AL B.

Hey i have the same saw the cover pretty much matches the side you have already. Don't go all the way across the opening in the middle is super handy to sight down the blade to align it. And if need to use a clamp to hold odd things to the back stop is easy to reach through...

You are most welcome Adam. I’m glad you can use them. Looking forward to your sheet metal video. Yesterday I helped a friend rescue an old Brown and Sharp horizontal milling machine. It sat outside for a couple of years but fortunately our dry Arizona climate didn’t hurt it too bad. There is surface rust but no pitting 😊

Because the variable speed power controls are expensive, you are unlikely to have both machines running at once, so it makes sense for machines to share power connections.

I just picked the same model lathe. It looks like it’s been parked most of its life. I put a new 2hp motor on it and am very impressed. I took an extra Chuck backing plate and mounted a 6 jaw 4” diameter Buck Chuck on the spindle. Still figuring out how to adjust the spindle bearings. So I purchased a copy of the original manual.

Great video! Question...what would be the cause of a ferris IS2000z not wanting to back up sometimes one one side (always left)? Sometimes I can be on a hill trying to back up and it either seems weak or doesn't want to back up at all on left side and sometimes it will suddenly kick in spinning while pulling back on the handle. Is it pump or wheel motor? Linkage looks fine. thanks

@@smalltownmachineshop6860 Fluid level is good. I have change hydraulic oil and filter. tracking is good going forward. Left side is just as strong as right going forward. Only in reverse is there an issue. And sometimes it is fine in reverse but seems to be happening more often.

That’s exactly what it is . When I started my building career I nailed the 2x6 on the wrong side of the x. My boss made me go get that tool from the trailer. He made me pull every nail an re nail it. I never did that again in my career.
