Just got mine today. I am no welder but I have a few things around the house I needed welder. Found this for $43 dollars on Amazon and thought I would try it. I am impressed it did what I needed. Only took me a few hours today. This little welder is great for homeowner or light use.

Hydrant wrench. The five sided part turns the water on and off and the small loop hooks on the hose to help tighten the connection

Also helps for leverage on the valve screw, stick the pickeroon on there and you have more leverage than you would just on the tool itself. But yes main use is to help tighten hose connections.

Something like that probably wouldn’t work very well in Blacksmithing would it? I guess maybe for one specific task like working with flat or something?

Adding a cnc controller to a mill would allow you to mill off "sewer" and engrave "water". Just a thought.
@grntitan1
@grntitan1 7 күн бұрын
It’s a whole lot more involved than just adding a CNC controller. You’d need to replace the lead screws with ball screws and add stepper motors to all the axis you wish to control etc. etc.
@wxfield
@wxfield 7 күн бұрын
@@grntitan1 Not really. I put a CNC controller on my clapped out Bridgeport 20 years ago. It's plenty accurate to do a job like engraving a manhole cover and cutting a circular pocket. In fact, I converted it 20 years ago this year (2025). I just added last year a MASSO G3 controller. It has a conversational wizard that will allow me to mill off the surface, engrave "water" and cut a circular pocket in the manhole lid..all without making any G code.
