I used to hang, but switched to flat because I thought it would be a better fin and all the big cab finishers were doing it. I soon learned there was a learning curve and really never got use to the downsides like spray going under on the finished side or the bigger chance for debris falling on to my surface. But I kept on, never really thinking it was totally better way of doing it. Until seeing you switch, then realized all the different drying rack systems, ventilation to keep floating debris off my cabinets, the reach when you have longer doors, the wait to flip, worrying about scratching on the rack,ect... wasn't worth the time or effort when I already had a perfect system. I've got to switch back. thanks

I love my Paintline PSDR, I was hesitant to spend the money but it's worth its weight in gold

Good advice. You could also maybe try using 2 of the wave hangers at the same time for the big three hinge pantry doors , one hanger for the top and middle and one hanger for the bottom hinge in the middle, if it would fit in your drying room vertical . Just a thought.

I personally use only what’s available to me locally so no Renner products. Only Sherwin Williams and Florida Paints. I’ve been using Sherwin’s new Gallery Series and it’s okay I wouldn’t say it’s worth the price tag but it does a decent job. But I find no matter what on verticals I get orange peel more than laying flat. Nothing comes close to the finish of spraying flat. Even heating the material, gun and substrate which helps considerably with flowing I still get slight orange peel. It’s bothersome but in a lot of situations I have no choice and the customers don’t have an eye for that like I do. Since the 1Ks I use skin over fairly quickly I speed it up with a heat gun and use screws in saw horses that leave a small almost unnoticeable dimples in the finish. I do like the fact that you can considerably speed up your turn around time with the vertical process although. Also in one of your previous videos you were using the Iwata anest Wider2 with the K2 air cap. I would just like to let you know Iwata currently owns the patent to their v-slot nozzle technology which double atomizes the material and creates a considerably finer finish than with conventional spray guns. The ws400 v-slot nozzle with the wider4 4l-j2 air cap are compatible with the Wider2 gun body. They both cost what the Wider2 is worth each I might add. But it might be worth looking into. And I currently own two CA technologies FE-Line guns. One I have the lcfm air cap on which I use only with my solvent primers and the other I use the compliant air cap for my waterborne top coat finishes. I notice the compliant cap is much better at atomizing high viscosity coatings than the lcfm air cap and can be adjusted to work well with a 2HP compressor. I will add the compliant air cap utilizes a completely different head insert and needle/nozzle assembly but it is compatible with any FE-Line gun. Maybe you should give that a try and compare it with the Wider2 for on-site or shop work. Great video looking forward to the next one 👍🏻

How long did you leave the Renner when you had to do horizontal before flipping them over? I haven't switched to hanging yet but definitely going to.

Thanks for sharing. Sounds like a real time saver that delivers very high quality cabinet door with 2 coats of primer and 2 coats of top coat on both sides. It should last a long time. Do you use a 2K hardener for the prime coats and topcoats? Spraying my bathroom vanity cabinets I found it challenging using a 2k primer and 2k topcoat. By the time the coating was dry the pot life was over and I had to clean the gun. So I spent a lot of time cleaning out the airless (Graco gx19) between coats. The doors came out great smooth and bulletproof but it was a tedious process. I used centurion 1107 primer, and 2800 topcoat with centurion 4002 hardener. Any suggestions on managing 2k pot life?
