I learned about MDI (Monolithic Dome Institute) a few years ago. They have week long workshops which are about 2 grand. We live in hurricane country, and I simply do not understand why more contractors don't offer MDs. I have written politicians (good luck!), contractors, realestate agents regarding transitioning to this type of construction, but nary a reply or response. Old habits are hard to break. Thanks for inspiring those of us who know about the benefits of MDs. One would think that property insurance companies would encourage these: make lots of money on premiums and only occasionally have to pay out.

Good evening D, You stated in greatly. 👍 👍 There is so much sense in introducing these strong, solid all types of PROOF (fireproof, hurricane proof, etc) methods and yet no twitch like you mentioned. Whether it has to do with them following the straight line and not even wanting to see outside of it - despite the facts of Benefits in building another way, whether people loosing their homes in cat@strophes is not as major.. How could it not be, right? We had several customers who reached out after a devastation they lived through. Two of them from CA, lost their home in fires. Poof, Gone. Neighbors next door plan on rebuilding the same way. WHY? Repeating the same thing & expecting different results, right. Well, they both know that it won't even be an option for them again. Thank God the clarity was there for these 2 Familes. And they will successfully build and feel safe. Home should be the place you are Safe in not in danger. I will continue spreading the word, introducing, sharing, insiping with great hope and carre. One person hearing, seeing & applying it is already 1 less people who will have to deal with any posibilities of being homeless. Thank you very much for bringing this Importance to Light as well. It doesn't surprise me that none of them replied, know that you are doing a great duty by talking about it despite their non-response. Share my videos with others, share your advice & let's make it be seen. Possibilities are here. They are. Appreciate you very much!

Good on you mate! You give people who maybe don’t have a lot of money, the ability to build a solid construction to live in. Fascinating to watch. I’ve liked domes ever since I discovered Buckminster Fuller and his geodesics 45 years ago. What you do is a much better idea one solid monolithic shell . I have my own home but every now and then I fantasise about building a dome house.

Great savings in cement by including the doorway as an attachment to the airform! I wonder how this can this be done with a double-walled dome? Your mesh sock is absolutely brilliant! When you see others try to spray stucco type mixes on fabric forms the wet mix just slides off - not on your form! This alone is the difference between success or just a mess.... Question: will a cheap sewing machine work to make the airform and mesh sock? I would love to see more detail on how you create your forms/socks....

Thank You very much Brother 👍 Sharing what works. Exactly - without the Mesh the approach of spraying is much more slower. If spraying too much on just Tyvek, it will start sliding (waste of money). Mesh provides that Great Grip & Strength. Speed in spraying without sliding off. 👍 👍 YES, during all my Hands-On Workshops I teach the sewing process using a Sewing Machine that is around $150 I have it on my Tool List as well. Considering a cement dome, several to connect, about the size you are showing in this You Tube to make a little pod city house. Each room have a dome. Or, maybe an A frame. A Tipi, Perhaps a geodesic kit, or a pod of some sort to cover with earth. I like all of them. Playing with plans for all and wonder which one it will be, in time. It will depend on the land. I have been thinking, I may build a few mini domes when I get to the Philippines , for Air B&B and weekend camping type accommodation, but using tarps or Tyvek and Bamboo and a few 9mm rebars, bamboo is very common in the provinces, away from cities, cost next to nothing and no need for airforms or blowers , just a gas powered compressor and stucco sprayer and mixer ( optional), labour @$10/ day, and rebar and cement are cheap there.

I'm a little curious as to why the airform seemed to be leaning a little in the video before this one. You can see in this video it's still leaning and throughout the video and towards the end, you can see the wrinkles at the bottom on the side its leaning. Is that due to insignificant air pressure inside? Is the weight of the cement causing it? That would be a major problem on a 30-40' dome with the added weight. Would a couple extra blowers fix this or have you tried larger blowers?

@@billbarrett582 Good evening, What you see are the wrinkles of the fiberglass Mesh-Form. It is sewn a bit bigger to fit on top of the tyvek air-form. Once the air-blower is turned on & the air-form is filled with air, you won't see any wrinkles on the tyvek part - at all! The mesh-form will have some wrinkles due to the extra material. Also, the leaning is an illusion because the foundation is thicker on one side than the other. Note: at the 28 sec mark you see me adjusting the mesh-form. While having one of the hands-on workshops - we had someone point out that one of our Domes in previous videos appeared to be leaning, but being here in CO, in person - during the workshop explained the illusion 👍

@@AircreteHarrythank you for taking the time to explain. I noticed the ring beam was thicker to accommodate being level. I think the angle of the camera might have played a role in the illusion of it leaning as well.
