Love the videos mark, very informative. While watching I thought you could do a “Toolbox tour” that seems to be very popular on KZbin. Just a thought.

That came out really nice Mark. That's a lot of tricky real estate. It's amazing you got this done in 17 minutes. Thank you for taking the time to make this video.

Thanks, it went pretty fast but not 17 minutes. That little gun put out more volume than I could have hoped for.

Hey Mark, that turned out really nice, definitely worth all the prep work. At least in the end you can definitely say you did everything possible to ensure a nice paint job! Appreciate the video and tips!

Thanks Ray. I am glad the prep is all done as I was getting burned out a little. It was worth it though that is for sure.

Great video Mark! I have the same touch up gun, but didn’t use it for this project. Very clever modification to use it with the pot. The rotisserie was worth every penny and hour it took to build. Thanks for posting the photos of Pops. I’ll get some additional photos soon. Just doing sheet metal replacement and repair now. I’ve been working on the passenger side door for days!! Thanks again for the great videos.

Thanks Robert. Keep up the good work on that door and everything else, it will pay off huge for the next steps. You are doing really well on your build, feel good about that. Looking forward to more pics.

Looks great. Your obsession with dirt in the nooks and crannies is legendary. It always amazed me no matter how many times you clean, there always seems to be more dirt and rust. Keep up the good work.
@FoothillPaintandFabrication2 ай бұрын
Thanks and I hear you on the dirt and rust. Luckily the rotisserie helps get most of it out. I thought I was all done and then spent 2 hours doing the drip check rails for the fourth time...

Stellar job adapting the old Astro gun to the pressure pot. what a life saver!

Thanks Dave. So much paint went through that old gun back in the day and now I just sprayed 5 quarts through it all at once. I just checked and they are 60 bucks now but look exactly the same.

@@FoothillPaintandFabrication Your series on this car has been so beneficial to me as there are really not many other KZbin channels that go into the detail that you do. I have learned so much from watching you and the progress you have made on the car. It doesn't need to be flashy to be educational. I watch KZbin to learn, and I've learned a lot over the years. I need to get the Certified KZbin University Mechanic shirt one of these days.

Nice job Mark. I enjoy seeing the product go on, it's very satisfying, is that weird? I like the ingenuity on the gun mod, it looked like it worked well. Thanks for taking the time to do these videos, and thank the Gopro for it's sacrifice.😉

Thanks Matt. It is satisfying to see the car get sprayed since I have been at the prep so long. The little hun that could did so well I will be using that set up again for sure. The GoPro thanks you but it needs a good cleaning for sure.

Speedo kote has epoxy primer for $150 gal kits. Something to consider if wanting a cheaper priced epoxy.

Thanks Doug, The Cannon is pretty beat up and the lens has a few welding sparks marks on it but seems to keep going. The GoPro has had a lot of paint, clear and primers cleaned off of it and needs it once again.

I read the intro, DTM means direct to metal. Is that the brand name of the paint? Is that the recommended manufacturer or is there another brand that you prefer? Looks like an awesome finish! Is this paint designed for rust protection? Novice here, really impressed.
@FoothillPaintandFabrication2 ай бұрын
Hi James. Here is a link to a video I did explaining some of your questions: kzbin.info/www/bejne/kITIfp2qqrhlnNksi=1vgO2JMYopl7xbVb DTM stand for direct to metal but it seems it has turned into a marketing gimmick. Yes it can be sprayed over bare steel but there are way better products out there and those are epoxy based. Epoxy is impervious to moisture where as some of these so called DTM products are not as good at moisture resistance and can absorb moisture. In this case since I had the product, it was the interior being sprayed and I intend on sealing it all up with a solid topcoat I went ahead and used it. DTM's are good for sand throughs and small bare steel areas when you are doing repairs usually so that is why they say DTM. Watch my video on it and let me know if you have any other questions.
