Just used the exact same sprayer and tent setup to paint our kitchen cabinets on our condo lanai. Spent more time setting up and cleaning the sprayer than I did painting. I will say that you get a TON of overspray with the 514 tip even at a low pressure setting. Even with the tent it seemed to get paint everywhere but luckily I had setup plastic just in case. I noticed you packed your sprayer away upside down. If you're planning on storing it for a while or its cold you need to put some of that pump guard in there and store it right side up to prevent any damage to the motor. AT least that's what I've read. Keep the great videos coming

Hey Justin! That's great to hear, glad your kitchen cabinets turned out! I like the 310 tip for doing trim as it is way less overspray, but the 514 is so fast :) Cool you have the same setup! I do always use the pump guard, and then place the yellow cap on it to sort of hold in the guard. But I've always just put it in upside down since the cap isn't super tight. I will have to start storing it right side up though it sounds like, thanks for the tip!!

@@DIYPETE everything is very well up here, thank you. Where I live it's supposed to be a decently colder than average winter, same there? Also I was wondering if there's any teases you can give me for what you have planned, I can hardly wait.

@@AmokCanuck Morning! Well, the biggest update this year is underground wiring for power to all the light posts and everything. I wanted to get a warming house done, but decided to schedule that build for summer 2021 --- so I have enough time to really make it nice! Rink will be 60x120 again, and we can't wait to skate! our winter sounds like it is supposed to be pretty similar to yours, but I'm sure not quite as cold since we are a ways south. Hope all is going well!

Hey Pete, Nice video. I have been looking at that exact sprayer to start spraying poly on my wood projects. I hate using a roller. I build your double seat bench as my first project out of cedar and it needs some help. I don't really know what is a good poly to spray on it. But I want that sprayer. I better hit Amazon up for an early Christmas present. And HEY! Let's see that XCarve in action. I have that on my list for Christmas too.

Great to hear from you! Those airless sprayers I have will spray oil based polyurethanes / spar varnishes etc. They just won't spray flammables ( there is a version that does, but it was quite a bit more expensive ), and that's what the HVLP is best for anyways. But being able to spray outdoor spar urethanes has come in handy for furniture. I've also done my tongue and groove soffit with it. Night and day quicker. The battery power is super nice, or there are plugin models that work just as well. Thanks for the inspiration to do a video with the x-carve! We've been using it a lot the last few weekends making christmas gifts for the nieces and nephews :) Hope all is well!

I've made several of your projects and love them and your videos. The bar stools could a person modify them into chairs and if so any tips you would have for that?
@DIYPETE
@DIYPETE 3 жыл бұрын
@@jimmeeks2632 Hey Jim! I know some folks who have done this for outdoor chairs. Since they are made out of 2x4's ( which is good for outdoor furniture to make it heavier so it doesn't blow in the wind so easily ) --- they are a bit blocky for my likes to use indoors. As for adjustments, you might check out my DIY patio chair video for some ideas on changing the angle for your back. But if you are just looking for a simple outdoor chair to put around a table -- adjusting the height will work just fine. I've heard of a lot of folks making them different heights. Let me know if that helps at all! Thank you for trying out some of the projects!
