Question for you. I am getting ready to build one myself. The plans use mostly 3/4" (0.75") plywood. Quality sanded plywood is sold in 23/32" (0.71875") Yes, this is a tiny difference. Did you need to adjust anything for that difference?

Nice work, very resourceful given the space you have. I constructed a 30 space unit for Lowe’s 27 gal tubs. (They vary in measurements by source). It is going into a masonry block building, it will be free standing

I didn't watch every second of this video, so maybe I missed you addressing this. I assume you will heat this in the cold, damp weather. There's no vapour barrier. I'm sure you're going to get dampness in your walls when you het it in the cold. Am I off?

I broke my foot using a stool like you are doing. 😅, 3 months out of commission. Just use a proper sized ladder. It’s not worth the hospital visits/surgery/time off work.

Awesome video. Like everyone else has said, this is the best start to finish video on building a wood framed structure I have ever seen. I will definitely be coming back to this video to reference on some of my future projects. Thank you for putting in so much time and effort to help educate everyone, I know this was a ton of work for you.

Would this be a good option for a series of 5 4x4 raised beds?
@DIYPETE
@DIYPETE 11 күн бұрын
Hey Jack! So if you are needing to get water to five different raised beds, it would definitely be an option. You could run 1/2 inch pipe or garden hose out from the house similar to what I did. You could then use a 1/4 inch barb out at each raised bed and you could then use 1/4 inch tubing to get to the bed and use an emitter. Another option would be to use 1/4 inch soaker hose out from the barb and the soaker hose could water the whole bed. There are many ways you could do the project, but a drip system / soaker system could be built with ease and would work well.

Thanks Pete. Was just yesterday trying to imagine a solution for my wife’s garden (I build it she works it). Love the videos, did the cornhole game and the patio cooler (my favorite project so far!!). Looking to next do the rolling kitchen cart but for outside. Limited patio space so something to wheel close to the grill when needed would be huge

Big huge two thumbs up on this project. We used the Dig products from Home Depot and designed the layout. We have 2 4x4 beds and put 4 360 degree sprinkler heads in each as well as a taller 2x4 bed. For the two 8x2 beds we used the 180 degree heads because those are up near our neighbors fence. Then about 5 heads in the berry patch. Super easy project and once you do one head all the others are the same. We were hoping to run it using the rain barrels and water pump but the pump is just a little under powered. The wife is super happy!!!

So funny that you put out this video today. I put in about 600 ft of a system very similar to what you put in about 2 years ago. My ground is not as flat and every time I mow I put a few cuts in the main line. I finally got fed up and rented a trencher and have been burying it this weekend. Hopefully you won't have the same issues.
@DIYPETE
@DIYPETE 14 күн бұрын
Funny timing! That's awesome you are trenching! Ours does lay nice and flat with the staples and smooth ground, but I still mow around it. Once we have all the trees planted and won't need to do more modifying, I may eventually bury. But for the time being this definitely does the job and works great. Awesome to hear your system is working well though! Cheers!

@DIYPETE
@DIYPETE 14 күн бұрын
You bet Wes! Yeah I wish I'd done this a few years ago. Was so cheap and easy to do! With 50 trees you'll have a lot more emitters so that 3/4 inch line may be necessary ( which is a lot cheaper online at the site i mentioned in the video then I could find at the box store websites ) --- but definitely would be worth taking the time to set one up for your 50 trees! Looking forward to hearing how your drip irrigation project goes, cheers!

I’m thinking about living in a shed instead of a home. I can’t afford a home. Is this too small
@DIYPETE
@DIYPETE 13 күн бұрын
Hi! I would say 10x10 is on the small side for a tiny home. I've also built a 12x20 shed. This is a size I could see working as a tiny home. You'd have room for a small bathroom/shower, living area, etc. Here is a video I did on the 12x20 size: kzbin.info/www/bejne/n16rnWRmpMx9irMsi=2czNFe5FgjK0kfqu
