That paint scraper on the sawzall is a great idea! I'm getting ready to paint Raptor bed liner in my Jeep. I tried just a scraper but most of that sound deadener won't come up. Then I remembered your video, so I bought a cheap sawzall and paint scraper to get that stuff off. Thanks for the idea! I'll let you know how it went for me.

I tried the sawzall, and the paint scraper kept popping out. I ended up using a wire wheel to get the sound deadening off below the back seat. It was such a pain that I didn't bother doing it in the front. I'll just sand it flat.
@mattFNpratt Жыл бұрын
@@WilsonZoneOK That is a bummer. Depending on the temperature outside depends on how easy it comes up.... Now some people go to the grocery store and grab a bag of dry ice and harden that stuff up using the dry ice and then it chips away pretty easy. But it's just bed liner just hammer on a heavy coat over top of it and you won't even notice it

After all that stuff comes up there is like a layer of just residue that it leaves behind. A wire wheel wouldn't take it off on mine so I took a spray bottle and just hit it with a little water and the wire wheel rips right thru it once its wet.

Does it work for temperature control inside the cabin?

I'm sure any extra layers or coatings can help a bit. But they do have better options for temperature control if that's what your aiming at.

Thanks you! And yea I definitely have considered it. I have a samurai waiting in the wings to be worked on and I think we might spray that a colored bed liner. This samurai is going to be a trail only rig so it's going to need it. KZbin is tough I'm hanging in there lol. And we are located right outside Baltimore MD. How about you?
@AndreeBZ4 жыл бұрын
Matt Pratt That would be quite the project. If it happens, I’m looking forward to it! I had one of those Suzukis when I was a teenager...I really loved that little car... I figured you were in the east coast, the shots outside the shop give you away. I’m in MD as well, near Gaithersburg. Stay safe and healthy bro, maybe I will pull the trigger on that raptor liner once this craziness is over.

Looks great, my question is does anyone ever to tis to the back of the carpeted area on the back seats? I have a JEEP dog and 2019 sahara, dog hair everywere!
@mattFNpratt2 жыл бұрын
Yeah we did the back seat area in this one... Of course we don't have any carpet down at all but instead of having shiny paint that your jeep dog would scratch up we have the bed liner down which doesn't show scratches as much and probably easier to vacuum hair up. So probably a good idea for your dog!
@lynnverheugen29102 жыл бұрын
@@mattFNpratt Thanks Matt, I have a liner on the rest of the jeep "areas" just not on the back of the back seats, which are carpeted. PITA for dog hair

Did you use any raptor primers like the Epoxy one or the acid etch?
@mattFNpratt4 жыл бұрын
I didnt use that brand specifically...but its always best to use an epoxy primer or acid etch over your bare metal. If I did I probably used a spray can version of acid etch from the company Kent. Thays usually what i have around my shop.

Why do u wanna get an older trans vs re-build the one u have
@mattFNpratt4 жыл бұрын
The older ax15 trans don't have a synro issue as bad as the newer nv3550. The ax15 does have other issues but I can deal with. The nv3550 trans can be rebuild but they say you can rebuild them and they still end up grinding later down the road. But I'm having issues finding an older trans so rebuilding might be my only route and just see how many miles I can get out of it....
