I am a Teachers Aide at the Dan Peterson school in American Fork and after my son telling me about this video and seeing it on Fox 13, I wanted to say thank you! Growing up with a sister with disabilities and working everyday with kids with disabilities I know how much the R word hurts them and myself! The R is never spoken around me or my family or at my school and I am thrilled to see that so many others are catching on so again THANK YOU!

I am a 14 year old with a little brother who has CP, and I just wanted to say we need more people like you to balance out the jerks who think they can just walk all over people. If a person has a disability in any way, at all, they are not impacting someone else in a negative fashion by living their day to day life. And people will negatively affect their lives by using the r word. This campaign brings joy to my heart and my school started doing this last year. We need to spread the word to end the word.

i only agree with not calling downsyndrome or autistic people retarded, but to ban the word straight up is in its full sense retarded, just because a few people miss use it or miss interprit it shouldnt mean we ban it, at this point we shoukd just ban english because someones always going to get offended by some retarded stuff

Look, I appreciate the effort, but I honestly believe, that a word familiar with culture, should not be eradicated, because it is offensive. It's been around, stood the test of time, and used in science. As long as you say it in context, it is not bad.

Ironically neurotypicals seem to get more offended by the word than autistic people themselves. Can't stand how every autism support movement seems to be connected to spread the word to end the word and trying to brainwash people into agreeing with it
