We bought the farm from my wifes father in 2020 and we have daily haul and used a New Holland 165 box until it just simply couldn't anymore. We plant a winter cover crop to chop in the spring so we wanted to move away from the box types and into v tanks. I worked on a neighbors farm in high school and he always ran Knights with the exception of his wild hair Meyer purchased once he hated that one and he also hated Gehls so with this in mind I of course bought a kuhn Knight in 2020 also thinking they were the end all be all now looking back after a couple years I like my spreader but man do I wish I would have bought one of these I kick myself often
@mikep78102 жыл бұрын
We had a Kuhn Knight before this one and I thought this spreader has a tough act to follow but its been a great spreader and I'd definitely recommend it to anyone
@KlineDeere2 жыл бұрын
@@mikep7810 well it'll probably be 2030 until I need another spreader now so if H&S is still making these I'm gonna give it a go what I'd really have liked was one of these with the New Holland paint and skins on it but NH quit selling Dura Tanks a couple years ago bit I'm quite sure they were just H&S spreaders The guy I worked for told me "Buy a Knight they don't freeze in the winter" well I'll tell you they certainly do cant lift the augers up out of the manure to keep it free.

We are looking for a side slinger to replace our old 680NH, How well does that take old unchopped pen pack? I have read that H&S have a habit of bridging with dry long stem pack.
@mikep78105 жыл бұрын
There was a lot of long stringy hay in that load coming off the barn cleaner and it handled it well. We haven't had an issue since we got it. It's nice to be able to move the auger up and down if there is an issue with tougher material
@fyrciakfarms1995 жыл бұрын

Is that spreader basically a slinger by the way it shoots out the side but a slinger painted red. Does that hold more than the 8114 slinger you used to have or about the same. I only see basically h and s box spreaders where I live I have yet to see a top shot spreader from h and s around. There are quite a few slingers around where I live though.
@mikep78105 жыл бұрын
It's a V style like the slinger but it has the bear claws where the slinger has the hammers and the h&s has one auger on a cylinder where the kuhn has 2 stationary augers

Thanks Eric. I should have mentioned it in the video, to get the manure to the storage building we just pull up with the spreader and unload it right into the building.
