Spreading Protected Urea

The use of protected urea has become very popular in 2023 due to its favourable cost when compared to CAN and also its greenhouse gas emissions profile, also, compares more favourably to CAN. However protected urea can be more difficult to spread accurately especially on tillage farms where tramline bout widths tend to be wider than on grassland farms. In this video Dermot Forristal and Brendan Burke, from Teagasc Oak Park, explain how to set up a fertiliser spreader correctly so that protected urea can be accurately spread on tillage crops.
