You guys should try the vaseline and cotton balls. Pre make at home, lightweight, and ignite with any sparks. My plus.... a single cotton ball burns for 5 minutes. So gives you lots of time to get your fire right.

Interesting saw, I made my own even lighter saw with nothing but a sawsall blade with a few teeth ground off and wrapped in electrical tape as a handle, it cuts the same size log but in sacrificing the handle to save weight, my saw takes a lot of effort to use. It's one of those give/take scenarios, for example it was a great saw for a bikepacking tour, where a saw isn't really required often and weight is critical.

Bryce, you might could check the warranty on the tent before you get rid of it. Idk if they will do anything about it because it’s 6 years old, but there could be something in the warranty to help.

Really interested in that saw. How do you pack it? Seems like it would be a pain to pack a naked saw blade, could you show how do that in a future video?

It has a little cover for the blade. I'll show it in the future for sure

Hey Bryce! Thanks for creating the content that you do. It keeps my mind on the trail even when my body isn't. My girlfriend and I have been patiently awaiting your next video because we've been thinking we'd hiked past you as you were filming. Your campsite's excellent view and seclusion (despite being nearly right off the trail) caught our eye. As we got nearer, we noticed someone was filming themselves so we quit our gawking and kept moving. Didn't want to interrupt! At some point (either before or after our trip, I can't remember) I'd watched your pre-trip gear video, and because you mentioned having a better time than the last, I suspected your next video might be Dolly Sods. At this point, my gears are turning and I mentioned it to my girlfriend. Since then, we'd patiently awaited your next video to see if we were right! Needless to say, we were pretty excited when we loaded up KZbin and saw your latest video was in Dolly Sods. When we hit about minute 17:02 in the video we both looked at each other with big grins because we'd made a note of remembering what you were talking about as we passed by - processing your firewood! I'm glad to see you two had an excellent experience. You were spot on; the weather was beautiful that weekend. We ended up staying at a site near the junction of TR509 and 511 (Upper Red Creek and Blackbird Knob trails) that had a great view of the night sky and had a blast! Anyways, sorry for the long message. We've been getting a kick out of this little story and thought you might too! Great video, as always. Thank you, again, for the information you share and

I see the specs of the The North Face Flint 2 are 87 x 54 inch floor by 41 inch peak height. Do you want to stay the same size, slightly larger, or slightly smaller? Some options off the top of my head with 50 inch floor widths: Nemo Dagger 2, MSR Hubba Hubba NX, TarpTent Double Rainbow, Mountain Hardwear Aspect 2

Definitely stay around the same size. Looking into the tarp tent actually!
