I was really impressed with your videos. I went down the previous 3 days. This was my first time going down to the spring migration. You saw a lot more birds than what I did and you made the trip to Peele Island. Wondering what you used for a camera. You had some nice shots. You did a wonderful job of putting all these videos together. I was just there and it brought back lots of memories. Thanks. You camped at Wheatley and I did too. I tented. I plan to go back next year. Hope to see you there.

Thanks Ron! Happy you enjoyed spring birding at Pelee. It’s a nice place to go in spring. We were lucky because others we met said the birds really came in the day we arrived. Anyhow, most of the bird photos were taken with a Nikon D500 DSLR with a Tamron 150-600mm lens (first generation). I’m debating about getting into mirrorless as there are some advantages there but haven’t figured it out just yet.

Tangos videos interesantes. Herve, has probado las bandas de resistencia? Son portables y no son caras. Ademas ocupan poco espacio.

Hey! Is that you? I think I remember a Sunny de Lagartijas from somewhere on the St. Lawrence. Hope you are doing well. I assume your comment refers to my workout video. I haven’t used good resistance bands yet. Only have a couple cheap ones that we had for rehabilitation at one time. I think those do it makes a lot of sense especially to get rid of equipment in the house. I assume you’re getting out into nature fairly often. I hear you have a nice place up on the edge of the wilderness. Sounds great. Should get together sometime.

Wonderful!!! I enjoyed every minute of this video. This felt like I was chasing spring! Your birds are quite different than mine. Some were familiar. We have red winged blackbirds and wild turkey. Lots and lots of woodpeckers. Actually had a piliated visit a few days ago. Do you ever see American Bald Eagles or do they not travel that far north? We have a nesting pair not far from me. Lots of red trailed hawks..black vultures! All my friends have tails or wings it seems! 😂

Thanks and happy you enjoyed it. I’m showing quite a few of the small woodland inhabiting warblers which are more difficult to see unless you’re actually looking for them. I assume many would pass through your area and some breed there too although many head much further north to breed. We don’t have black vultures up here. Just Turkey Vultures. For woodpeckers we have Downy, Hairy, Yellow-bellied Sapsucker, Red-bellied (are expanding here gradually), Pileated, Northern Flicker and a couple other less common northern Three-toed Woodpeckers. Bald eagles are becoming more common up here than they were a few decades ago due to stopping the use of DDT and other pesticides that would cause egg and infant mortality. Also have Red-tails here and Broad-wings, Red- shoulders, 3 accipiter hawks and Merlin’s, Kestrel, and Peregrine Falcons.
when you have plan B 😂
