Yo, I've been leg locking since I started at a judo sambo school back in 1997. Been doing the honey hole / 411 since that time and working that reverse / lat heel hook at 24:10 since then too. HOWEVER, that cross arm scoop behind the low of the back of the knee is the most GAME CHANGING thing I've seen for leg locks since the z-lock, especially for those who want to get the straight ankle. Thank you so much!

Why do you refuse to use the word "ecological"? Saying Constraints Led is actually more accurate but just curious. Edit: Realized an Aoki Lock is a Mir Lock but for the leg instead of the arm.

Acht, I'm just done with folk banging on about it, especially those who use all the lingo to make themselves seem smart, and love the sound of their own voice. In contrast, some of the folk with the best understanding of CLA in Grappling (Christian Graugart, Ed Ingamells, Paul McVeigh, Chris Hearn) have read and understood all the literature, but speak plainly and have gotten incredible results. And yes you're right, the Aoki lock is essentially just a mir lock of the leg!

@Giles-Garcia I had no idea Christian was on top of this. I know of Ed. He's one of my favorites in "The Movement" (Don't want to use the E word.) I've not heard of the other two. I do follow Rob Cole and Pritt so those are two coaches on the same path that I enjoy their work. I'll look up the other two you mentioned. Are they also Globetrotters?

@@KodiakCombat Paul McVeigh is one of the OG coaches at the Grip house in Glasgow, and a legend (Cagewarriors champ in two divisions!) - he's been using CLA for some time now and sometimes posts stories about it. I've been able to pick Paul's brains about it, and he's on top of the literature, but he can explain everything in simple terms. Chris Hearn runs Jurassic BJJ in Dorset and his students have been scooping up medals at comps - he's a very experienced Roger Gracie black belt who's been delving into CLA as well for well over a year now, and it has paid dividends. They're great examples of coaches who've read and understood the literature, and used CLA successfully without talking like a prick, or trying to take all your money.
