Nice video. Two of my favorite things, kayak fishing, and crappie fishing. After having kayak fished all over the place, beginning in the late 1980s when I was a guide in the Florida Keys for three years, I have caught a lot of different species of fish, and some very large fish, sharks, tarpon, etc., my favorite kayak fishing of all is still crappie fishing. Great job. Good luck. Be safe. Happy fishing. Subscribed to your channel.

+BratsNMustard Thanks! I really appreciate the support. I have been fishing since a child but these past 4 years I switched to kayak fishing and Im not turning back. I think I enjoy this more than fishing from a boat. I feel so close to the action and love the challenge and exercise! Stay tuned for more!

+AdamBrrFishing Yep, that's how it is once you get hooked on yak fishing. In the past thirty years, I have only fished out of a power boat about a dozen times, everything else has been kayak angling.

Nice video. I just love how you have the Hobie rigged. Simple but effective....and gets the results. I know that this video is almost 3 years old, but I like this hull shape over the 2019 design. I have never fished in an area this cold since I am in So. Cal so I am curious about your dress. Is that a dry suit you're wearing? Do you wear that in case you fall in? Or is that what one needs to fish in air temperatures this low? Thanks and keep up the good work.
@AdamBrrFishing5 жыл бұрын
SilverShadow2LWB why do you like this model over the 2019. I was going to upgrade.
@SilverShadow2LWB5 жыл бұрын
@@@AdamBrrFishing - The 2019 hull design at the bow is more like the Revo which cuts through the water more effectively. But being more narrow it does not protect from the bow submerging or water spray getting all over you. The downside of this is there is more hull slap. The draft on the 2019 is about 2 inches less so it sits lower in the water. You can see this when you look at the bottom of the boat. I don't care for the new rudder which is more like the Pro Angler. It is very susceptible to damage when loading and unloading the boat from a truck bed or car top. Hobie provides a rudder guard which clips to the rear handle, but it is large and just another thing to pack. One cannot mount a Bixpy or Evolve on the rudder. The 2019 has two great carrying handles on the bow and stern which is a great plus. Although the 2019 has a lot of instrument and rod holding options on the side rails, a lot of open salt-water kayakers do not like to load too much "stuff" adjacent to the seat. This is so that one can re-enter his boat if it capsizes or he(she) falls out. Both hull designs are pretty stable - enough for standing up to fish. I just purchased a brand new 2016 Outback two months ago upgraded to the 180 Mirage ARC drive with Turbo fins at my local Hobie dealer for $1166. It was never in the water and was still in factory wrapping. With the money I saved, I put in marine mat, sail rudder, a trax 2 sand cart, a Mantis sunshade by Protecht, a rectangular mid-hatch, a VHF radio with DSC, and a new life vest. But customizing a yak is kinda like customizing a car....it is very individualized. But have fun on the water.

Just found your channel. Being a new angler I am simply shore fishing atm but that is one awesome 'yak. Just a quick question...is there a DEP or state resource that states if fish are safe to eat? I catch and release but wouldn't mind a meal or too as long as the waters are clean. Thanks! +1 new sub

I have a couple questions on your vid as I've not fished for crappie much in the past. Do you target structure or balls of fish? How deep generally are they in the spring? Are they migrating to the mouths of creeks etc? You put a hurt on those fish bro and I like the Hobie but the weight/price are to rich for my blood. Thanks for your help. Sean @feelfreenation
@AdamBrrFishing7 жыл бұрын
When fishing for Crappie I target structure. If I see any limbs sticking out the water or I mark it with my depth finder, I target those areas first. Most the fish I catch early spring I moving into warmer shallow areas ranging from 4-6 of water.
