The most challenging time emotionally and mentally for no reason at all is always January. February it starts to feel like it’s on the up. Prayer and thankfulness worship music is my go to. Sometimes that’s all we can do. Praying that it starts to feel like home more and more and providing a place you love to come home to and for your sweet family what a blessing you are to them!! I am so in love with those chair cushions. THAT is what you need and it's so French country. Love the pops of blue (my fave to decorate with) and the lightening up of the area. I'm so tired of monochromatic, neutral, everything one color that most KZbinrs I watch have gone to. It's not cozy and inviting. It is just too industrial or institutional. Make your house stand out from all the others and do it different. I look forward to you gardening this year and of course you know how much I love the chickies. I love that your mom is in the kitchen with you and you are able to have her there by sharing her belongings. It's peaceful and very calming. Do your thing girl. Lauren I can tell in your voice you are struggling about your mom's lost, I also lost my mom in Brasil I couldn't go because was durant covid time, It's very hard a piece of puzzle never comes back, but for sure she is very proud of you. We just passing by in this earth some love ones take the train back home before us, it's hard the pain Never goes away we just get use to live with that. I sharre your fondness for rose quartz. In my younger years had a group of friends, We took short day trips, had lots of excursions and tons of fun parties. We really celebrated birthdays! We called ourselves Goddesses and as we aged we celebrated getting older and bolder. I would slip a little beribboned floral headpiece on the birthday goddesses head.I purchased rose quartz hearts to use. I would announce that ancient cultures believed that you could imprint your emotions into this stone. The heart was to be held to your heart and you told the birthday girl why you love her and then passed it around the room. The heart is presented to the birthday girl to remind her of how many people love her. Anytime she feels sad or alone she can take the heart out to hold next to her heart and feel our warm thoughts and love.

I never used to decorate for seasons but it makes me so happy , and like you said I’m scaling Christmas back abit this year , getting older , but also wanting to enjoy the seasons as well . January was a thoughtful month as I having been well since Christmas with bugs and catching everything goin , so I thought from January on it will be a steadier pace through the year , no rushing and just enjoying been in the moment. Lauren love the changes, I too love the mix of traditional and French country. Color certainly achieves the feeling of warmth against a monochromatic backdrop which I’ve found in my own home as well, I love my white couches an drapes but recently like you ,I have started adding patterned pillows ,tables-cape with a French country vibe and even switched out a few of the white drapes with a lovely French country print. I am loving the change and cozy warmth . Your beautiful home is evolving and I love the direction you are taking.❤

Hi Lauren, if you want to see color inspiration!!!! You need to watch the potted boxwood episode- home tour of Edith Anne Duncan. She is a southern designer who has totally inspired me to use pops of color. I promise you will amazed and inspired. After watching her tour I went out and bought a turquoise pillow. Lol My design is so monochromatic but that has changed since watching her.

What fun! I too have to change it up and while I always need color, it really helps me as you said to lift my mood changing surroundings.
