The Spring Equinox is on its way! We're getting into what this means for us as African people in the Southern Hemisphere. How does the Equinox affect us and what is the history behind it?

WOW!!!! I stopped celebrating many holidays because it just didn’t make sense to me. When did bunnies lay eggs, what does colorful eggs have to do with the Rising of Christ? When questions wasn’t answered, I stopped and figure it was another holiday made for money. I’m not going to get into Christmas right now. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!
@covfefe17873 жыл бұрын
Its European folklore thats why in English you say they multiply like bunnies. in Spring especially in Europe everything comes to life and multiplies including Bunnies and in Pagan culture a rabbit is a symbol of fertility so many European tribes saw bunnies as a symbol of spring and worship. Christianity needing to convert pagans made Easter Jesus crucifixion a Holiday of again Death and rebirth. Catholics completely suppressed pagan influence and the use of rabbits in there churches while protestants began using Easter bunnies Easter eggs to attract atheists remaining pagans to church making a rabbit instead of Lamb a symbol of protestant American christianity. The easter bunny is pagan in origin. Israel did not have seasons in the European sense but only wet and dry seasons. Western christianity is amalgamation of European paganism and Semitic Eastern Judaism

Sis, I had those epiphanies too when I was much younger. Things didn’t make sense, holidays and celebrations didn’t add up. I stop celebrating, I am Afrocentric, I am a pan African, and I believe in ATR.

Minor implicit message that some might incorrectly receive. Egypt is great but it's not our climax. It's just one of the few that have been preserved well. Inzalo Yelanga inspired Egypt. Came WAAAAY before Egypt. Let's attempt to start ngenzalo yelanga

Funnily enough I learned about the origins of Easter egg and bunny after reading a jehovas witness pamphlet that said jws shouldn’t celebrate Easter because it’s actually a pagan holiday for spring and therefore idolatry

When are we africans of the diaspora supposed to celebrate our new year? I live in Europe so should I be celebrating in March with the northern equinox or celebrate in September with the equinox of my ancestors? Because that'll mean I'll celebrate it in the northern fall equinox

hi my only question is you said spring equinox but then you also said September 23 so I'm confused the whole purpose of me commenting is I'm trying to find out when Africa celebrates the new year as I heard that in Africa the new year celebrated from the lunar cycle which is more natural than whatever these whites are doing. I am learning so much this year about where we come from how we don't know where we come from and how we can get back together and I am here for it next year I would like to not celebrate any European holidays and celebrate all of the African and natural holidays if that's a thing but basically I want to be more in tune with the earth and its cycles and how we can harnessed positive energies and influences from them I always thought it was weird that Christmas and the new year we're all in the darkest hours in the more research I do the more I see a lot about paganism and just on down that rabbit hole but that's not my intention so I don't dig too far into it I'm more looking for correction and getting on the correct path.

Its very inaccurate to say that the Mayan pyramids were "inspired" by Egyptian pyramids because they were not. These are two separate civilizations. Both buildings were, however, inspired by Divine connection.
