- I have a soft spot in my head for old Buicks. The Buick str8 had a distinctly different sound from any other str8. I could hear one coming and know it was a Buick. Had a whirring type sound sort of like a GN spooling up. We had a 48 Pontiac str8 with enough room in the back for a basketball game. I'm going to check out the Riviera they say you have if its on your channel. I saw a '49-'50? convertible one red leather interior, grey paint and showroom condition. Pure car porn.

It's crazy that that Buick 8 starts up so easily and runs as well as it does. I watched the straight 8 showdown and I saw how rough that straight 8 was. The cast of CWMC really pulled off a staggering feat there!

A friend who has since passed away had a beautiful 1940 Buick that he had put a later 263 into that sounded wicked with solid lifters, dual carbs & dual exhaust. It was a fun car to bop around the countryside in

Build the spare motor for the coupe and do the necessary work to make it roadworthy and drive as is. Finish that pretty green Roadmaster aka Road hog and cruise it around too.

That Buick deserves some more love I think ... I had a 41 Straight 8 coupe and there was just no killing it. I drove it every day to work 8 miles a day in the 2000's and had people park in my lot as an auto parts manager for a couple years just to take pictures of it. That Riviera wants to live for sure.

I absolutely love the 50 buick! The straight 8 challenge still stands up as a legendary youtube automotive series. It was increadible to get to see so much of not one but two very different straight 8 engines and see them inside and out. Even today there's very little content out there covering either of those engines, especially the Packard. I hope things work out to where we get to see you build that 50. Regardless, I still enjoy seeing in the background.

That '50 Buick Riviera gets my vote to put back in running condition before too long. Grew up in the ;50's and always admired the class, the power and tanklike sturdiness of those cars. They had my respect for sheer iisize, heftiness and weight. The ones I best remember were black and I thought they were funeral cars apart from the neighbours who had them. Thanks for reving up that old beauty.

I have never seen one in Australia (I’m sure someone might have one) and I would love to see it not just on the road…….. but a Genuine Coldwarmotors restoration. I was first smitten by your Channel , when You found the blue Plymouth buried up to its guts in horse shit and have not missed an episode since. (I have also checked the older episodes). Very cool - what a beautiful old engine! In the 1970s, I had a neighbour in Richmond Hill who owned a really nice 1953 (?) Pontiac Chief (perhaps it was a Chieftain?) with a straight-8 engine that he used as a daily driver. It cranked sooooo slowwwly that it sounded like there wasn't a hope - but it never failed to start, even during the winter.

Love to see the road master worked on enough to make it legal to drive even if not restored. Once it is running and driving sell it to someone to love and drive around. The other Buick needs that new engine and a restoration. I think all told you need to plan on next year being the year of the Buick. With a goal of one driving, maybe one of the 59s restored, and one with a new engine

Maybe when the Frazer finally ascends to the 'Big Garage in the Sky' this 50 Buick might get the build motor (and a few days/weeks of welding on the floor & trunk pans) and trot about Alberta for a time? Okay just when we thought we know the project schedule you threw another one at us but I'll gladly watch a straight 8 build. Good spring start I would not think that motor was trash by the way it started. Its funny how a warn-out engine will sit there for ever but a low mileage GM 305 will seize while you are having dinner and a nap. Keep the faith there more projects coming. Myles should pick up a standard clutch pedal and maybe a 3 0n the tree just in-case the future requires it for Mr. Strato-Chief.
