Some friends & I did this trip, with a hike to Darwin Falls. We stopped at a great Vista point, looking back down the canyon to see Panamint Dunes from a rock-walled building. Great video!

What an interesting journey, I hope that you are having as much fun making the video as I am watching it. You driving by all those old trailers was probably like a kid in a candy store I bet. Thanks for sharing.

Oh I've been here before and talked to some of the owners of the trailers. None of them wanted to sell.

The pump is a great pump as I used to work in a refinery that had one that was almost bulletproof. The used it to fill tanker trucks with asphalt. Of course the valves probably have a different lift for water but never less were dependable just the same.

Of course the ones I was associated with were steam driven they were still productive pumps as the ones your showing here.

Are there guess you would call wild vegetables growing there or have the cycles of hot and cold kill out the growth? These places are really interesting and sure do Thank you for sharing your video with us.

No wild veggies that I have seen...

So sad about the condition of the pond. I'm lucky to have visited it prior to the flood. Wonder if the growth could be cut back. I agree with you about those who feel it their right to paint and vandalize places in the middle of nowhere.

We are talking about going out there and camping for a few days while cleaning the pond and the area up. We can pull all of those reeds and cut back all the over growth. Should be a fun trip..

Please feel free to reach out to me when/if you do this. If my calendar allows I'd be glad to help.

Thanks for the tour. The roads looked pretty good compared to the road maintenance in Northern Utah when I lived there. I do not miss meeting vehicles coming from the opposite direction on mountain roads.

Pretty soon the desert is going to be nothing but graffiti, Rock piles with secret messages inside. Tea pots.
