Wow, I can't believe you made it over Chicken Rock in that big rig. Last time I did that in a Jeep there was barely enough room, maybe 1 foot before the edge. Someone did some serious work on that road. We had one of those Blazers when I was a kid. It was solid as a tank.

And I did it before they blew the hell out of it and made it a freeway. Then it was REALLY scary. I have photos LOL... Scary to even look at. Thanks for noticing.

This is such a great video series Larry. Those narrow roads with the dangerous drop-offs certainly will keep you on your toes and at the edge of your seat. You were looking for adventure and you definitely found it my friend. Thanks for taking your camera along to share it with us. Take care.

And that is after they made Chicken Rock wider!!!! It used to be a foot narrower and my tires were right on the edge.... YIKES!

My current truck got its first Nevada pinstripes in the forest on the way to Rita's. Haven't been to the new and improved Chicken Rock/Bridge but that did get the pucker factor going even here at home.

Ya and like you say that's the improved version. It used to be narrower.. I first ran it in 05....

What is that banging noise I keep hearing as u go up the summit road?? The road is somewhat smooth looking so you're not hitting rocks Garyw again
@mobiltec5 жыл бұрын
It's probably my antennas banging together. Two ham radio antennas and a CB antenna all on top of my tiny roof top. Remember the shell on the back is fiberglass so it won't hold a mag mount antenna.

I can find almost no mention of Rita's cabin on the internet do you know anything more about it ?
@mobiltec2 жыл бұрын
Nope. Just that it's there. If you want to know more about Rita's Cabin I would go to the Panamint Valley Forum. www.panamintvalley.com/forum/index.php?sid=0354d1297444d2e5236ebfdcaae19caf

That trail up to Chicken Rock is scary. I forgot the name of one in Colorado that was really bad. I dont think my GMC K2500 would make it through either pass with the 133 inch wheel base. What is your opinion? Thannk you for the Panamint Valley videos, they are great. Regards from Ody Slim
