Hey everyone! Spring is here in full swing. It seems that we are now swimming in a sea of green leaves and blooming flowers. The bees are doing well and the garden is coming up. I guess that means that we are growing a corona virus garden with everyone else. The orchard is also doing well and the various berries are becoming well established. We are gearing up for a good harvest year. Fingers crossed. We are also seeing how the forest management we did in the winter is paying off.
I hope you are all doing well out there. Best wishes.

Thanks for sharing your garden! We are just starting our second farm, and basically camping in an RV, at the moment. I heard a tip, the other day, for those flea beetles eating your greens. Apparently a dusting of wood ash deters them, without harming the greens. Reapply after a rain, as needed. I haven’t tried this, yet, but there it is, for what it’s worth. I found you through the sawmill video, as I’m shopping for one. Subscribed and notified! Hope you have a beautiful season, new KZbin friend! 👋🏻

Hello, welcome and thanks for the comment. I'll look into the wood ash. I don't miss living in an RV with two littles and all the rain we get here it got old fast. Best wishes.

With all that vegetation, do you deal with a lot of mosquitoes? If so, do you have any tips on how to deal with them?

We have some mosquitoes but they don't really bother us. We do have a lot of small biting flies we call midges. They are smaller than the head of a pin but they bite hard. Luckily they only seem to bite during a couple weeks in the spring and fall and then only during an hour or so in the evening. So we either work in the house during that time or wear long sleeves.
