Trevor from huddersfield. Has a child I can remember watching a TV programme called (HOW) , I was glued to the telly, and no one had to talk until it had finished, my favourite was jack Hargreaves I could watch and listen to him all day and never get bored, Well Harry your just good if not better, I watch you with great interest, nothing can stop me watching you well that's until the wife shouts out teas ready, LOL, but 5 minutes later iam back watching another Harry's farm or Harry's garage for my dessert Brill, I have been watching all types of utube channels for years and never subscribed to any of them, But when I started watching Harry's garage and then Harry's farm I just had to subscribe, I didn't want to miss out on the next Harry's garage or farm, And now I have subscribed to your friends channel Tyrell's classic workshop. You and your family stay safe Harry and keep those recordings coming Trevor from Huddersfield 👍

This gives a fascinating insight into how agriculture works and to what degree farmers have to deal with such frustrating laws. I had no idea until seeing this that we import so much from Ukraine. Thank you for the information Harry and good luck with the rest of the years cropping and harvesting.

Just to say Harry , I am on Yara this year and we are doing our best to keep up with with all you guys and some of us understand the frustrations , I thought it was a very interesting comment about osr , not the first time I have heard that either , chin up kettle on cup of tea in hand , we have been through worse , hopefully people will now start to listen to people that know their stuff and ignore the people with yellow vests and clip boards , none of us have time for all that rubbish now , it’s big numbers and a real worry and also showing up just how integrated we all really are , we all need each other to make this big world work . Spoke to a farmer that has £700.000 laid out on two combines , with wheat down and quality and big business knocking your money at their door by stupid blackmail tricks (have seen that countless times) £160 per ton on the farm £80 per ton at the factory ? It’s disgusting , weetabix , you have been named and shamed , I hope now we can get back to some kind of real life , there is lots to discuss ongoing I am sure .

The ruling on rapeseed as regards pesticide is one of those typical examples of unjoined up policy, but you can see the advantage for governments boasting about banning a chemical, while forgetting to mention that shortfalls are made up with rapeseed from countries where the rule doesn't apply. They've obviously been reading Machiavelli's handbook again....

Good to see the farm is going well is these times. Here in Norway the virus indirectly makes a crisis in farming. There are a lot of workers from East Europe working in farming, and they have problem coming, and they will be put in quarrantine. The really big problems is some time ahed of us, due to our climat, but just read that a strawberry-farmer is not able to plant his plants. But With all kind of busines closing down, there should be hands enough here. Fishing is also into a very Critical season With many Foreign workers. Hope they find solutions.

Is it viable to shave the soil so that there is a continuous slope of say 0.5%? A sort of contouring. That way puddling will be avoided and at a shallow angle the speed of the run-off will be fairly slow minimising soil loss.

I'm trout farming in Scotland and we're screwed, sales have stopped 100%, this is normally when we sell lots as folk are filling up the ponds and lochs for the start of the fishing season. We have to decide whether to feed the fish or not, feed is so expensive (£1200/t) . At the moment (26th ) water temp is still cold (5-7C) so we don't need to feed too much but when it warms up the fish are ravenous and it's sole destroying to not be able to feed them a full ration. I have enough money to feed them for about 8 weeks then I have no idea what to do..

Harry, a local farm to me in Essex is 2,500 acres and they grow wheat on all of it but they've only just started drilling today, 26/3/20, and I've never known wheat go in this late before, and it's obviously because of all the rainfall. They usually drill wheat in October and I'm wondering how drilling so late will effect the yields, especially if we don't get any frosts? What is the earliest you can drill wheat to miss the wet autumn? I am not a farmer but come from a farming background and have always been interested in the land! Cheers.

Seems like an age since the last one. Good to see some results from your efforts Harry. I'm in east Anglia and when we get flooded out it's all root veg that rots in the ground and the price of carrots, spuds, onions and even sugar (lots of sugar beat grown out here) goes through the roof.
