Spring Hill Trout Fishery - Testing The Hardy Ultralite X 5wt Fly Rod In Extreme Wind/Rain

Another awesome session at Spring Hill Trout fishery when we almost never bothered going as the weather was a nightmare lol
Testing out the new hardy ultralite x fly rod in 5wt - I have basically downsize a all my fishing gear so I now only have 1 5wt rod and one 7wt rod (Not counting the trusty shakespeare sigma)
Go and support Spring hill if you can guys its a cracking venue!!

Fun fact Lee is now stocking steelhead rainbow trout imported from America into the fishery - Might be one of the reasons they fight so well! Might be worth a trip to the venue to catch one everybody??

Great session at Spring Hill as usual - the wind was brutal on the bbc weather app it said 40mph so we ALMOST cancelled the trip …. Glad we didn’t as we had a blast….

I brought a hardy zephyrs ultralight 3 years ago love it so easy to cast 😀

I loved the Orvis Helios 3D but it really was not very good in close unless I overlined it ….. this hardy is much better in close and is still very powerful

@@barrybigplums I’m no expert but needed a light rod as both shoulders are worn out this rod means I can keep fishing all day 😀

Chad ...get up my way fishing ..upto 20lb monsters .£15 whole day c.r and it's a trout masters water too .got to love Scotland .also the two reels I bought off you I still use lol .there is plenty awesome fisherys all round near me ....

There is some awesome fishing up that way …. Currently rebuilding my house so I’m grounded for the next 9 months or so but defo would consider a venture to wales or Scotland afterwards
