I first heard this in the UK on John Peel late night BBC radio - ordered the 12" and this was an intro to a world of alternative music. In an interesting twist I was always a skateboarder so had no idea about the LA scene till much later.

This song was played on 106.7 KROQ in the early 80's, the original is such a unique sound where it is hard to identify what instruments they employ.

I was swept up into the early to mid 80's KROQ world. Loved it. I bought this and dozens of other records at Vinyl Fetish Records on Melrose in Los Angeles. I agree - this acoustic performance doesn't do the song its deserved justice.

wow!.....i have to agree with linkdavid.....one of my faves of the 80s on KROQ in LA....one of the unique things about the new wave era.........how did they make those wonderful sounds? dont hear them anymore....in anything

Could they really not get a drummer and bassist for this gig?! AFAIK, the band only released two full length albums, which are both great, and today, I am happy that I acquired both of them when released. Unfortunately, I was never able to find them on CD.

wow. being in los ang at the right time with kroq . there must still be courageous ,talented musicians out there . Where can u hear them?life didnt stop in 1984 so little really interesting since then .Interpol & a few other bands interest me now.Stravinsky does it for me now but I still love this music. Who else would reference Nabokov in a pop song now adays.
