Well my dear friend Ruthie, it’s no surprise I was in utter bliss over your spring into summer home tour. Your home is my favorite of all time. I so want to come over sip tea and bake up some buttery biscuits or something with ya.. then we can go junkin. Your stories and treasures make it that much more special too. Also, the movie fried green tomatoes is near and dear to my heart. Growing up when I was a tween/teen my sister and I would visit my grandparents for the weekend.. we would go thrifting, clean grammas kitchen bay window and polish all her treasures she had in it. Then we’d get to pick out a shiny piece of jewelry from her jewelry cabinet it was magical. We’d always settle in to watch fried green tomatoes because my grandma owned that movie... granny always had a special yummy treat for us too. Both my gma and gpa have since passed, so those memories are everything plus tons more. To this day, I haven’t been able to find a fried green tomato sign, but will keep looking. Love ya.

You never disappoint me with your incredible decorating. I appreciate your love for God and family and friends. As a young mother I always did my best to care for my family by doing all the things a mother does, cooking, cleaning and making a home. When my kids grew into teenagers I was glad they were able to take care of themselves. God spoke to me one day and said now that you don't have to wait on them hand and foot, do some of it as a way to serve them and use it as a way to show them God's love thru me. I cherish the time that my kids were growing up and now they are all fantastic adults. I am like any other mother that there were days when they drove me crazy, but I now cherish the memories and continue to try to find ways to serve them and my husband. I am not talking about being their doormat, I am saying there is a way to use serving others as a way to show God's love. Keep up the great decorating and reminding us how important the home is. God Bless. PS, I didn't get it all right all the time so don't be intimidated. Just some thoughts.

Hi Ruthie! I too, have been anxiously awaiting this video from you! You are one of my fav KZbin channels! I just love your style! I have been married for going on 41 years this July. My husband and I met when we were teenagers too. I was 19 when I got married. I will be 60 this year. Anyway, I just love your decor and your thoughts on family. Always a treat to visit your home! I just thrifted another book from Laura Ingalls Wilder it is a collection of her early articles from the Missouri Ruralist. How incredible is it that she didn't write her first book until she was in her sixties. I just turned 51 in January and I have been purchasing the toys I had when I was younger, it seems the older we get the more we are drawn to those little girl days. Not out of sadness, just a chance to hug and thank her for all the stubbed toes, scraped knees and icecream tummy aches. "Growing pains" to prepare us for the aging pains. LOL Count it all joy!
