This will be gorgeous come Spring. Isn’t it wonderful having your daughter home from college for the holidays! My oldest grandson came home Friday and spent a few hours with us yesterday, love him so much! ❤

I can’t wait to see those glorious tulips next Spring. I have tulips in my deck boxes that have annuals growing over them all summer, which they aren’t supposed to like. For the past 4 years they’ve come back strong. Fingers crossed they come back this Spring. I guess they like it here in the Pacific Northwest zone 8b.

I purchased 625 Tulip bulbs from Colorblends and would love to have them chill them but this is what they say on their website "Does Colorblends prechill bulbs?Yes, but space in our cooler is limited. We offer our prechilling service only when the bulbs that require prechilling on an order exceed two crates, which is best visualized as the space occupied by 1200 tulip bulbs." Can't wait to see your display in the Spring. I just got mine planted a few days ago in zone 7b.

...so sooo glad you got these in the ground -- even in the rain. The window of opportunity was closing, so you do what ya' gotta do. And yeah -- the time change (still!) -- I myself am feeling guilty for getting some rest...it can be 6:30 and feeling, like, 8:00. Towards mid-January, we'll have gained about 30 minutes of daylight. The rest is needed, tho'. 🤷🏼♀️🥴 👩🏼🌾💚 =^..^= [MD, now 7a]

The mix you chose looks a lot like Smooch, which is another Colorblend tulip blend… I planted it at my last house and just fell in love-I usually lean more pastel, but the bold pink was soooo amazing in the Michigan springtime. And they were blooming right at the start of spring in April 🥰 I decided to replicate it again at our new house and planted this past fall. So excited to see it come spring.

@GardeningwithCreekside To cover Elderberries to keep the Japanese beetles from eating the green berries or to store garlic after harvesting. Storing garden gloves or other items. I usually have gloves everywhere. 😆

I love your choice of colors. Colorblends is my favorite source too. I garden in zone 6 and can only grow tulips in a protected space because of deer pressure. I would imagine you don't have a deer problem with Miss B patroling the yard? Spring in your yard will be gorgeous as a result of your hard work.

Unfortunately, Colorblends only offers pre-chilling if you order a certain amount...like over 1200 bulbs that need pre-chilling (not all bulbs need pre-chilling) and you have to be in 7b or warmer climate. But...if you meet those requirements, that is a wonderful service! I am in 7b, but I only ordered 600 bulbs that needed pre-chilling and 100 (Alliums) that didn't. Those Shocks and Struts are BEAUTIFUL!
@suelydelimajonssen4858Ай бұрын
Vão ficar muito lindas as tulipas, pena que aqui no Brasil o clima não é adequado para as tulipas.
@annriggle1945Ай бұрын
Jenny, can you replant them in tulip bulbs (after you pull them and chill them again). Or is it one and done? I am in 6b .. and honestly, they don’t come back well for us either after just a couple years. I have 2000 ice follies daffs surrounding and in my yard! They multiply and give quite a show each year!
@prayonkreutz2398Ай бұрын
So, you leave last years bulbs in the ground? Do they ever come back sporadically? Do any of your bulbs come back, natualize? Also, what type of grass is that in your back yard? We need a better blend to grow in our red clay soil that gets spongy in the rain.

Oh our children work plenty hard! She is 17 and currently taking college classes instead of traditional high school, and she was in the middle of finals. Plus, she edits all of our videos (5 per week), in addition to being a MASSIVE hep to me in ways that you don't see. Be careful of judging others. You are not privy to the whole story of out lives.

Well said Jenny! 👏👏👏 How is it some folks find it necessary, behind their keyboards, to tell content creators how to raise their kids or look after their pets or make their gardens/ houses look better, on and on?! 🙄Good grief, if something wouldn’t be said in person, it shouldn’t be said here either.
