i work at la mercerie! and because of our move we actually carry every color and every base that knitting for olive offers!! I think my boss said we're the only shop in the states that does which is super neat :,) I'm actually about to cast on a summer top in the pure silk as well, its so lovely

Omg hey!!!! I sent in my resume to the shop like a month ago and no one has gotten back to me, if you’re down to pass along the message that I would in fact love to work there that would be so cool lol. I came and saw the new place solo last weekend!!! The expanded KFO range is amazing, it’s so cool that you guys are the only place in the states that carries the whole line!!! What top are you casting on in the pure silk??!?!? I will be back to the shop soon so hopefully I will see you there next time!!!

I debated naming the shop but decided against it because it’s in such a small town and the odds that anyone who is from there would see this are very slim. Also I am very non confrontational about stuff like this lol. Definitely a bummer that this is a semi-common experience to have in the knitting community!! Thank you for being here!!!! Bisous!!

I love your energy and humor. You are doing a great job. I think you bring something different than others I watch. Maddie , I am thinking about knitting a sweater or two. I always have trouble with picking a yarn. I also have two different sock sets on the go and I want to knit more. Knitting does cost a bit. I would really like to knit with the nicer yarns. I’ve only been knitting a year now. I mostly have acrylic yarns and I do have sock yarns and I bought a yarn set of 5 skeins of DK yarn for the stripes sweater . I fell in love with the blue gradient yarn. I have a belly lol and thought the stripes wouldn’t be a good idea. I crochet as well.

Okay first of all, stripes are for everyone!! If you want to knit a stripped sweater you should and I’m sure you would look great in it!!!! I love knitting for olive for nice basic yarns. You might want to check out their bulky merino, it’s one of my favorites currently and is reasonably priced! If you’re based in the US, the yarn shop La Mercerie ships knitting for Olive domestically so you don’t have to pay crazy shipping to get it from Denmark. Also check out Drops yarn! Lower quality fibers but super affordable. I paid shipping from Denmark on some Drops yarn and it was still cheaper than most comparable yarns I could find in America. I used Drops Air for a Cardigan No.8 and I think it’s a great dupe for Wool and the Gangs Feelin Good yarn!

@@byathreadknits I'll use Drops Melody in color vanilla (14), just like Kutovakika ! I'm just considering adding a strand of Drops brushed alpaca silk or kid-silk, as she used that combo for one of her newest cardigan (Daydreamer Cardigan) and said it added more stitch definition.
