Spring Makeup

I fancied a change from the norm today. I usually wear a lot of browns and burgundy cream eyeshadow colours but today I thought I'd show you how to wear a soft matte grey eyeshadow which really compliments a pretty Spring make up look. Don't shy away from powder shadows, as long as you use an eyeshadow primer, this should prevent that annoying creasing you can sometimes get. Speed Beauty by Caroline Barnes Thank you, I did. I don't have a mid-tone grey so my first attempt was a bit dark, but today I combined the dark grey with a light taupe and it looks really nice. That shade possibly better for my typically celtic colouring anyway. It's fun trying something different. I always use highlighter and mostly cream shadows. This look is fresh and quite sophisticated at the same time. Loved the tip about preventing fallout. I will add that to your great tip on using blotting paper to avoid wrinkly concealer and powder around the eyes. That's been the single most useful piece of advice I got from watching KZbin. It works brilliantly. Can't completely remove texture from ageing eyes but it does allow me to cover darkness without exaggerating the texture.

Love the look. I always love your use of blusher, a quick dab and it looks so fresh and healthy. I either can't see mine coz I havent applied enough or have blended it out too much or I look like coco the clown !!!!. Ive watched your video on applying blush by the way and Im still hopeless. Kills me that we can’t get Max Factor in the US! I grew up with it and used the 2,000 calorie mascara in high school. Young folks today don’t know what they are missing with the brand not being readily available here!

lizzie69 if you can’t see your lids you need to focus on the lower lash line and your brows to create space.... I will do a film to explain this soon :))

Cazzie Lewis this happens to me too... I have tried every brand but the one I've been using for years which works is Clinique Lash Power - you remove with hot water... it forms a sheath around your lashes - takes a bit of getting used to but never smudges! Good luck!

Hi Cazzie, as Lizzie69 says Lash Power is great. A good drugstore version is the Boots No 7 one in the gold tube, which is also a tubular mascara like the Clinique one and does not smudge or budge until you remove with soap and water. Just looked it up, it’s called Stay Perfect and it’s £13.
