Man you guy's found the mother load those 2 days. The one where Bob just dunked the net deep down not really knowing what to expect was crazy. Capt'n Bob is awesome...you made him earn his keep in this video. Thanks for sharing with us.

I watch steelhead videos from everywhere, (I'm from Washington State), and these steelies seem to me to be the largest average size in the Great Lakes Region. Further research tells me the Michigan record catch and keep, and, catch and release, are both from the Big Manistee River. This must be the go-to river in Michigan for large steelhead. Awesome video! I like the map you used to show how you targeted the steelhead in the woody structure. I'm going to get a centerpin set up soon. I can see how it helps control the float better than any other type of gear. Looking forward to watching more in the future! Subbed ya, really enjoyed watching!

We grow some good ones over here. The big manistee is even home to the World Record Brown trout as well. Truly an honor to be fishing some of the best water in the world. Thank you for watching and tight lines!

Hey Dave, we mostly used Steelhead Egg sized hard beads fitted 2” above the hook. Steelhead Spawn Sacs also caught a few fish for us.

Learn how to handle steelhead correctly!!! Can't be lipping trout like that, it's not a bass. You'll break their jaw/spine and over time they'll die
@usfishermen2 жыл бұрын
Our guide is a professional of the sport, all fish were handled carefully and released in good health. I understand where you’re coming from but they are an extremely tough fish! Thanks for watching :)

@@usfishermen He guides on the lake all summer banging on Kangs right? I have never seen a professional Steelhead guide use one of those things. As an avid Trout slayer with decades of experience I can assure you that tool is a trout killer. Just because they swim away don't mean they lived. It also don't mean they die but still. Anyway great video. Way to stick em but if you are gonna jaw jack em you should smoke em up and add lemon. Tight lines!

@@boblove6865 nope! He switches to midland area Smallmouth/Walleye/Crappie in summer. Fair enough. Tight lines to you as well.

@@boblove6865 I'm a guide for over 25 years and fish the Big man all season long. Your guide might be putting you on fish but he is a hack and has a lot to learn about how to treat the resources that he makes a living on. Boca release was never designed for steelhead or salmonoid. Do your due diligence because you are making yourself look bad in the eyes of real anglers and guides that care about the resource over the dollars.

@@dudleycampbell4912 you @ the wrong guy. I am with you man. I would never jaw jack a trout. Of I was a on a float trip and my "guide" was doing it that would be the last time he floated me down the river.
