Your monstera is amazing🌿💚,I wouldn't remove anything from her.As for marantas😅,I' ve had exactly the same experience as you:bushy plants reduced to nearly nothing and then resuscitating miraculously.

I love it when you share the history of a plant and tell us about its current growing conditions (substrate, lighting, nutrients, etc.), Drea. What have you decided about selling *your* plants to your viewers?

.. My Hoya Krohniana Silver started blooming in December, then she took a very short break and took a new blooming in te beginning of February and has been blooming ever since.. So every night I go to bed with the softest sweetest smell of vanilla 🤗 My Ctenanthe Amagris I bought about 3 months ago, a baby she is, but she have been blooming for the past 2 months ☺️ I didn't know they were blooming, so big surprise 😳 🤗 I love Springtime..

Where do you get the transparent nursery pots from? Do they have holes?
@AlohaPlantLife7 ай бұрын
Technically, they’re not actually nursery pots. Some of them are food containers that I use and I poke holes into the bottom of them. And then some of them are actually pot liners that I poke holes in the bottom of. You can usually find pot liners at most nurseries or like Lowes or Home Depot.
@MG-ig1ux7 ай бұрын
@@AlohaPlantLife thanks, didn’t even think of that! It’s so clever, now we get to see what is going on inside without having to take the plant out of the pot
@chrislynch10117 ай бұрын
I was going to ask the same question! I have the same pot liners that I use as cache pots but I'm liking the idea of using them as pots

With the monstera (and this is just my theory) it will put out pups when it feels like it can't grow anymore roots or because it is so mature it can allocate the necessary energy

I love the video!!! I’m glad you brought up the monstera, because I’m getting into the same situation with my Thai Con. Have you ever thought about thinning it out? Or is it inevitable that also monstera will eventually become massive beasts? I am hoping to keep my Thai con still on my coffee table, but it’s becoming huggggge.

I love your channel and all of your amazing knowledge that you share with us. I do have a question that I hope you can help with. 3 wks ago a friend gave me a small of with starts of a burning bush and I had it in my plant room with my grow lights with all of my indoor (MANY MANY new Alocasia’s and monstera varieties) last night I noticed webbing on the burning bush starts which looked like spider mite webbing. I immediately removed it, sprayed with alcohol and cleaned it. Do nor should I spray and clean all of my baby plants? I have checked them all and don’t see anything but I am worried to death because these plants, as you know were not cheap.

I think it is worth mentioning that ZZ plants, even though they come from Africa, may not like south facing windows that much... at least in my experience.

Thank you so much for doing these informative videos! I learn so much. I purchased a Maranta a couple of months ago and it is still in the same pot. I will admit I am hesitant to repot for fear of it being dramatic. It has pushed new (tiny) leaves but has lost leaves also in the process. With your Maranta do you use only distilled water?
@AlohaPlantLife7 ай бұрын
I use filtered water from the dispenser built into my fridge after letting it sit out and get to room temperature

@@AlohaPlantLife that is a great idea! I had not even thought about that. Thank you!

Hi love your videos 😊 I have a question. How long does it take a new Calathea Peacock leaf to mature? Have several leaves that came out after I bought it two weeks ago and they are still looking new.
@AlohaPlantLife6 ай бұрын
Do you mean how long does it take it to harden off after it comes in? If so, I honestly have never paid that close attention but I feel like no longer than a week maybe?
@LeahSimone-b6k6 ай бұрын
@@AlohaPlantLife Hm. Wish I could send you a picture. It’s about 3 feet from a northeast (slightly more east) facing window. Several of the new leaves are staying that light green color and some are drooping (and not coming up at night). I’m watering it every 6 days. It’s still in its original 10 inch pot. I’m stumped. It’s drying out pretty fast it seems to me. I haven’t looked at the roots. Afraid to mess with it too much.
